Role
Hitwizards fulfill a more combative and physical role within the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. Their primary focus is on handling such dangerous and immediate situations as the arrest and containment of a Dark Wizard, hostage rescue, and so forth. Because of their close ties with the Magical Law Enforcement Patrol, Hitwizards also will often assist with more mundane police work and patrols.
Structure
Hitwizards usually work in small squads headed by an experienced Hitwizard.
Recruitment and Training
While the age requirement means that some Hitwizards may be recruited shortly out school, most have some sort of field experience before coming to the group. This may entail work with other areas of Level 2, a position as an Obliviator, or some other form of related experience.
Outside of defensive charms and counter-curses, Hitwizards are usually also instructed in some form of hand-to-hand combat, and basic healing.
Uniform
Rather than a uniform, Hitwizards utilize a dress code. Members will often customize their own equipment to best meet their own personal style within combat. This code requires black pants, a dark blue shirt, and that the outfit uses the colors of black, silver, and blue. Armor, usually engraved with runes to supplement defense, is not uncommon. All Hitwizards wear a silver badge with the icon of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.
