On her day off, still afflicted by magical measles, Fauna spies a dog that looks strangely like the one Savvina Katopodis described as her companion Skýlos. Cinaed Tawse , in disguise, has been caring for him and he and his son Robin Adani are enjoying a walk in the park.
Runespoor Smuggling
Over drinks at the Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade, Ignan mentions that the family are aware of Johann's tendency to use sleeping potion. Johann does not appreciate the interest. Ignan also gleans Vedir Prideaux's dealings.

Ghosts of Grimshaw's
Late one night, Nemo is playing a flute that she found at Pandora's. She and Kurby Bagnold hear a scream from Grimshaw's nearby. They hurry towards the lit up shop, but no one's inside. It looks like they stepped back in time. They find a dusty ledger marked with a strange glyph. The ledger lists names and dates that go back hundreds of years, one of which is Bagnold's father. Nemo heads toward the back room, but falls into the ossuary below the shop. Bagnold helps her out. Just before leaving, Bagnold finds and pockets a strange key that had been left in place of the ledger.
Tenacious Trouble
The same day the article comes out and two days following the verdict, associated parties talk shop at the Ministry holiday party. Harper Graves reveals that a pair of silver handcuffs had been malevolently left in her office, which rang too familiar to the Plot:Tenacious Trouble incident at Hogwarts a few months before. Kurby Bagnold and Fauna Blake resolve to investigate. Werewolf mentor Ignatius Prewett V offers his support for Greer Grant's return to Hogwarts
Murder by Mail
Enid Jingleberry manipulates the completely crazy Theodora Kingstreet into throwing the courtroom into chaos, all the end of casting doubt on the legitimacy of the original trial. Kingstreet admits to forging evidence and threatens the Wizengamot.
Wolf Moon
Jebediah Layton, disguised as Figaro Sellaphix, takes control of the Dumfriesshire Werewolf Safe House by assaulting the attendants, Sellaphix and Ji-Won Kim. He gives Figaro a message. Then, Layton locks up all the werewolves including Adrestia Gamp, Robert and Richard Dunnigan. He murders the Dunnigans, skins them, and carries them away. He leaves behind cigarette butts, a silver skinning knife, and silver handcuffs.
Crimes of Lorelei
Since the McBoid family posted Iona McBoid's obituary in late December, Lorelei has been keeping an eye on Iona's gravesite. Duncan pays his respects on the first of the new year. Lorelei pretends to be related to Iona, but it doesn't take long for Duncan to see through her lies. They duel, injuring each other. Lorelei scorches the tree. Duncan cleans up the gravesite and does not report the attack to the authorities.
Bagnold and Briggs
Nate and Kurby get trapped in a Ministry elevator. Kurby reveals to Nate that he knows about Nate and Lorelei Hunt having a deal at Grimshaws. Nate threatened to get back at Kurby for all the harassment.
Cuffe Vanishes
The London home of Barnabas Cuffe and Agatha Pendragon is deserted, and devoid of furniture

Kurby confronts Nate Briggs about the splinched finger he received with Nate's photo via owl. Nate tells him that Lorelei Hunt must have sent it. Nate's skeletal finger replacement shoots a curse at Bagnold and they scuffle. Both of them flee, Nate to his neighbor, Aviad, and Bagnold to Aileen.

Lorelei forgot someone on Valentine's Day, but she's making up for it now. She leaves a trellis of poisoned flowers on Sasha Snow's door, and a cursed note: Sorry We Missed You.

Lorelei owls Kurby Bagnold another gift, this time to his flat, and this time it's Nate Brigg's splinched finger. She helpfully includes a photo of Nate and hints at his alias, Hermes. Kurby does not appreciate it, and sets off to find Nate.

Knox Greyfriar owls the parents and grandparents of Lucinda Temple and Greer Grant to inform them the girls were attacked but are unharmed.

The National Museum of Wizarding History has announced an exhibition of the Mirror of Erised, which will run for two weeks beginning in April. The public is invited to come view the mirror and learn about recent discoveries concerning the mirror's origins. The mirror will be available during normal visiting hours from the 2nd through the 13th of April. There is no charge to view the mirror, but museum staff will keep the queue moving so that all have a chance to see.
