Eradicate Lycanthropy Foundation
The Eradicate Lycanthropy Foundation (ELF) is a British organisation established around 2012. They are associated with WALI. Its President is Alfred Bitterwood.
Publicly they present themselves as an organisation specialising in researching a cure or reversal of lycanthropy. Their research includes better Wolfsbane, etc. But their tests on their subjects are actually seeking ways to eradicate lycanthropy through other means.
The Ministry of Magic is focused on managing werewolves, St. Mungo's on caring for werewolves so ELF supporters are attracted to the unattended concept of eliminating the condition, (even if in practice that leaves the question of how to treat existing werewolves).
In the late 2010s, ELF distributed inflammatory literature sometimes under the cover organization name Well-being Leviosa.
History
Around June 15, 2012 Sasha Snow established the philanthropic organization "Matthew Four Thirtythree (MFT)". By June 25, among other, less prevalent causes, MFT established several chapters of ELF in the UK and continental Europe.
Sometime between 2013 and 2016, Hyperion Gamp an important member of the foundation, broke with the group and moved his development of improved Wolfsbane Potion to the Department of Mysteries.
