Born to William Shufflebottom and Gladys-May Shufflebottom, Susie grew up on the family farm in Godric's Hollow. The family are trapped in the low socio-economic rat run of life. Susie went to Hogwarts but dropped out after her OWL exams, with no academic aspirations.
Her father was in and out of Azkaban during her childhood for various creature-related crimes and also experimenting with Dementors with his old school friend Lawrence Musgrave. As such, her mother raised Susie and her brother almost single-handedly on the farm. Susie is no stranger to hard manual labour, though she is a dab hand with charms now when raising creatures. She has learned from her mother how to make a knut stretch and to hide your galleons.
Hufflepuff Ariens have an extreme abundance of energy; however, the usual Hufflepuff tendency to work hard out of duty is modified by the Aries tendency to value play over work. Therefore, expect long periods of playfulness and seeming indolence punctuated by brief, manic bursts of industry. These Hufflepuffs may also be more ambitious and socially aggressive than average, making them clear leaders in their House. Their emotional warmth, open hearts, madcap sense of humour, and quirky independence will endear them to many people, but their naivete makes for easy exploitation by more ruthless sorts of people.
Susie is keen to earn extra money and will follow along with her uncles such as Norman Shufflebottom when there is a job to be done. She is not shy when it comes to bending the law, as the Shufflebottoms do what they have to do to survive.
