Sandy Misslethorpe visits Lawrence Musgrave in place of the usual healer. They discover Lawrence is still dreaming of other people's bad memories, such as his minder, Fendrel Stump's.
Shorthanded

“Sometimes I dream about people I don’t know,” Lawrence added in a thoughtful tone, looking past Sandy as he recalled memories, “sometimes I see them again, recurring.” He shuffled his shoulder-blades against the rough wall.

“Like the other night it was a chap in a dragonhide apron. He kept going on about a potion he was brewing. I’d tell him to stop bothering me or show me, and next thing he’d go up in flames. Explode his cauldron, screaming. His face was… melting.” Lawrence winced as he used the word, a snippet of the scene in his mind’s eye. “Ruddy horrific, graphic dream. I’ve no idea who he is but-.”

By the door, the bald hitwizard was staring at the floor as if he’d realised he’d left the gas on. Lawrence’s hazel eyes snapped to the expression, and his lips parted.Lawrence Musgrave

Shortly before dementors converge on St Mungo's due to Pentrals Possessing, Sandy Misslethorpe and Yavin Morgenthau work with Lawrence Musgrave using legilimency. They stray into territory Lawrence does not want them to go, and he reacts violently, attempting to strangle Sandy.

He had seized a grip on Misslethorpe’s throat before Stump’s stunning curse from the door laid him out cold on the floor. The hitwizard was trained not to ask questions, vigilant for these moments. Minister Glass calls Hitwizard Fendrel Stump in for a meeting. He has sent the Minister regular reports regarding Lawrence Musgrave at St Mungo's, but one word in the report causes Glass to require weekly updates instead.

Maybe he’s up to something, the Minister thought inwardly. He’d read nothing but reports of the deeply depressive state their prisoner was in, and he would prefer to keep it there.
