Yavin Morgenthau is the Head of the Department of Mysteries and a Legilimens. He has led an extremely eventful life, dedicated to his speciality in mind magic, and has finally settled down in London. His most notable accomplishment was the publication of a book entitled A Handbook for Legilimency and Occlumency in 1995. The book grew to fame in the early 2000s, used by many practitioners of mind magic, and earned Yavin an Order of Merlin (First Class) for his significant contributions to the field. He has also written other, less lengthy books about various aspects of mind magic, including When Walls Fail Your Dreamscape.
He has also previously tutored Virgil Carstairs, a naturally gifted Legilimens.
Don't let the reputation fool you... he's a pretty nice guy! Weird but nice (and only a little creepy).
