Analiza Snark, Headmistress of Hogwarts, announces to her staff her plans to orchestrate a new international tournament.

"As you may know, I have spent a little over a month now going to France, Bulgaria and America in order to set up a Triwizard Tournament, or Quadwizard I suppose it will be called now... Something to that affect. Anyways, I have successfully managed to procure the support of Beauxbaton, Durmstrang and Salem in attempting to unite the schools once more for this prestigious contest..."

International Tournament Returns to Hogwarts, article by Niobe Thursby

In the first time since in over a decade, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry will be host to an international students' tournament, this year so named the TetraWizard Tournament. Headmistress Analiza Snark has spent the first part of this year in negotiations with Salem Witches Institutes in the United States, Beauxbaton Academy in France, and Durmstrang Institute in Norway.

Herschel Reid and Persepolis visit Hogwarts School as they discuss the important issues surrounding the TetraWizard Tournament. This meeting clinches their decision to invite the professors to attend and make the tournament into more of a show of braun, and paint Hogwarts as a hub of magical education and international goodwill.

What's In The Box

The first champions (with the exception of poor Teodosio Medici, recovered their prize - small sealed chests with no identifiable markings. And then, on October 1, an image of a thestral appeared, giving the Champions their first real clue as to how to get inside...

A small crowd consisting of the champions, delegation staff, press and tournament officials arrived at a rather plain looking hallway on the second floor - it would be the staging ground for the Second Task! After some ceremony, all descend into the Chamber of Secrets! ( Professor Bai Li Yang of Salem speaks in Parseltongue to open the Chamber.)

In a sad twist of fate, Alexandra Carstairs is unable to compete and the Goblet chooses Raine Almasy instead.
