Physical Description

Ivy is short for her age. She is much more aware of it now she is at school. A nasty Slytherin boy called her a dwarf her first week. Ivy's mum says she will grow quickly in a few years. It will all be OK. Ivy really hopes it will be true. Growing spells are too difficult to try right now.

Ivy has long blonde hair. It is her favorite thing about her looks. She has grown it very long. She and her sisters enjoy braiding each others hair. They pour over their mother's magazines. Try to recreate looks. Learn the occasional tutorials. At school Ivy plaits her own hair. She tries to keep it up for lessons. Fearful it will get singed.

She wears her uniform neatly. Favors a cardigan instead of a jumper. In the evenings and at the weekends she wears simple things. Leggings, jeans, t-shirts, sweaters that come down to nearly her knees. In the common room and dormitory she normally wears socks, slippers or is barefoot.

Since Christmas holidays Ivy's clothes can often have ginger cat hair. This is because of her pet cat Marmalade who was her family Christmas present.

Home is very important to Ivy. She likes going on trips with her family but she is always very happy to be home. She was horribly homesick in September. Ivy enjoys doing things with her family. She is in the kitchen at home a lot with her sisters.

History

Ivy was born after the Voldemort war ended. When it was peaceful again. She has an older sister Heather and a younger sister Cassia. Her mother was a professional quidditch player. But is now a coach. Her dad works at the Ministry. Ivy is fond of her grandparents who are her mother's parents. She loves it when her uncle Brinley visits but he does not visit often now he works for the Minister of Magic. Her dad's parents passed away long before she was born. Her dad has lots of older brothers but they do not speak to each other. Heather told Ivy that they have been in Azkaban. This is why their dad changed his name when he married their mum. Not to ask him about them.

Ivy grew up and still lives in Tinworth, a mostly wizarding community in Cornwall near the coast. Her grandparents live a few streets away. Ivy and her younger sister were often looked after by their grandparents while their parents worked. Their grandparents taught their granddaughters much about magical plants, herbs and took them rock-pooling and kite flying on the beach. But their parents would do their best to have family time together during the school holidays when Heather went away to Hogwarts. They were able to occasionally holiday abroad. But most summers in Cornwall had plenty of swimming and sometimes surfing.

Ivy was nervous about going to Hogwarts. She was very happy to be sorted into Hufflepuff. It is an important house to her family. But she was worried not to be in the same house as her big sister. She was glad to make friends. But was very homesick. Her family gifted her a ginger cat at Christmas which she named Marmalade. This helped with homesickness. Marmalade spends much of his time sleeping on Ivy's dormitory bed. Then gets up to mischief at night.
