Ryannon is the Editor-in-Chief for The Daily Snitch and a muggleborn. Her older brother, Alan, was killed by a werewolf during the Second Wizarding War. During this time, Ryannon was among a group of muggleborns who were caught by Snatchers. After a harrowing couple of days, Rory Murdock created a diversion allowing her and the others to escape.
She was not initially a fan of Alan's wife, Tempest Sage, but the pair bonded over their shared grief in his death. She cares strongly for family and enjoys showering her niece and nephews with lavish gifts.
Though her family was torn apart by werewolves, she holds no grudge to them as a whole and had a standing invitation to Lapin when the club was operational, despite not being a werewolf herself.
Ry married Quidditch Announcer Carl Eastman in 2002. To appease her Mother-in-Law, Judith Eastman, she converted to Judaism, but did not take the Eastman name. The Sage family had not been raised particularly religiously so switching her faith was an easy thing for her to do, but she had made a name for herself as Ryannon Sage and was unwilling to give that up.
