Rory Weir was a squib who used to help her parents run The Sweet Sorrow in Edinburgh.
She died in May 2017, accidentally killed by a WCU unit when she and her uncle Peregrine Weir got loose from their cell on a full moon. They were both unregistered werewolves.
History
In life, she was a sulky, bitter young woman who felt like she was being held back by her family. Rory didn't think she belonged in the wizarding world.
Growing up, Rory attended muggle schools but did not progress further than her GCSEs. She was not a terribly good student but attained passable grades in English Literature, History, and Geography. Rory often befriended troublemakers and problem students. Her parents were quick to pull her away from these influences by making her help out at the inn after school.
Relatively friendless and aimless, Rory fell into depression at sixteen. She was fond of her uncle Grin, who never told on her for smoking cigarettes and sneaking out in the evenings.
In 2015, Rory was bitten by her uncle's werewolf form when she followed him on a full moon to investigate his suspicious behaviour. She was treated by her mother, a former Healer of Creature Injuries. Rory went unregistered until her death in 2017.
Her death incited the Werewolf Alliance to call for the then-head of the WCU, Kurby Bagnold, to resign.
