With an ego as big as his, he can fill every room with his presence, and the Catalonian often makes an impression of some sort everywhere he goes. With his vivid opinions and outlandish ideas he may be a thorn in the Headmaster’s side for months to come. A fan favorite, the buzz of him taking up a position at Hogwarts has students considering Quidditch (at the urging of their parents…mostly their mothers) that wouldn’t normally be so brave.
Having it all isn’t always the easiest, and his temper is certainly unmatched. During a time between seasons there were whispers of an incident that required a bit of scandalous cover up work and a bit of coin to pass from one hand to the other. He doesn’t speak about it and when asked he will refuse to know what it being said, but as the saying goes... what comes up most certainly will come down.
Physical Description
At average height, Héctor has a grand ability to seem like the biggest most important person in the room. He isn’t a stranger to the sun and once spent a great deal of time at the healers for sunning himself above the clouds. His facial features are finely cut, he keeps his facial hair neatly trimmed to outline his jaw and lips, and is a testament to his Roman heritage. As the years have gone on a few strands of gray have started to paint his black hair, but he likes to ignore them and secretly plucks them out if they are easy to notice.
Héctor dresses to fit his family name, the embers of their long line of pureblood royalty still burning after all these centuries, and he wears his family crest around his neck on the same chain as Saint Cecilia in honor of his late mother. With few rings of old gold and bright red stones upon his fingers, he also wears few sapphires on thin chains around one wrist. He favors warm color clothing and is often wearing a golden yellow or burnt orange robe.
Personality Description
Brave, fearless and wild, Héctor certainly sent his mother to an early grave. The youngest of seven he was often teased as a child that he would be her undoing, but it was all done so with great fondness. With five older sisters and one brother to look out for the family, Héctor was given chance to roam wherever he wished, and in doing so…got a great taste for adventure. Eager to constantly be on the move his body often rejections to being one place for too long, and during most staff meetings a leg will bounce or his fingers will tap the surface of the table.
He doesn’t have a shy bone in his body and is often the first to speak out about well…anything, and offer his input where it may not be wanted or needed. His opinion he holds higher than most, but does enjoy learning about the will and way of others. A wealth of information, it is a point of pride for him to be the most educated and experienced in the room, and he will take any chance to tell a story of one of his travels.
Though he is a pureblood through and through, he has a deep and nearly rebellious love of muggle music; particularly 90’s R&B from a summer spent in a sea of bodies in LA. It isn’t beyond him to attend a few music festivals and be humming California Love - 2Pac feat. Dr. Dre If he could get the tech to work he would play it in his room, but he saves that for those wild weekends out of the castle.
History
His parents Emili Vidal and Cecilia Marie, welcomed their seventh child during a summer storm one hot day in August. From the beginning of her pregnancy, Cecilia knew this would be her last and cherished every moment. She did not deny her cravings and spent many long hours walking the grand halls of their summer villa on the coast near Barcelona beneath the sleepy ruins of Castell de la Santa Creu. House Cindras was once a part of the Spanish Royal court but by the late 1500s pulled away before Anglo-Spanish War was finished in 1604, but the crest of their family and pride still remains. When asked, Héctor may even begin to spin a tale of how he is technically a Spanish Count or Duke…depending on the day and how the story is told.
Héctor was a happy child, always full of life and eager for adventure, and that didn’t change while attending school in France. With a formal education already in place from a boarding school in Madrid, languages never got in the way of soaking in everything he possibly could. He speaks French, Catalan, Spanish, and English and often comes up with little pet names for people in one language or another. His father was a firm believer that once a person could read and write in Latin, speaking and being understood anywhere in Europe would be easy enough, and over his travels Héctor has put that to a test.
During his time at Beauxbaton, Héctor had a reputation for being the most involved with nearly every student in his grade (as well the upperclassmen), and never missed a chance to socialize.. If there was a party to attend, he was there, if there were tears to be shed, it was often over his affections, and if there was any triumph to celebrate, Héctor probably had his hand in it one way or another. He was a masterful student and invaluable to the Quidditch team, and went on the play professionally for the Quiberon where he gained a near cult following that called themselves The Heat. Héctor played heavily into his fanbase and turned up the temperature by removing his shockingly pink robe after every match won. It is said that his trading card can sell for well over market value if someone is lucky to get their hands on it.
Héctor only retired at the urging of his mother and an injury in a rather private place that made being on the broom for very long interable, but as part of his farewell tour and whenever the team needs interest he goes from school to school to demonstrate different moves to advancing students. It wasn’t until the position at Hogwarts opened up did he even entertain the idea of settling down, but the pull to be in the rooms where it all happened certainly made him see he could do at least one year.
