Character History 2013 - 2017:
In early 2013 Lydia became officially known as a herbologist in the British Association of Herbologists, though she has decided to remain as a freelancer. She largely takes part in the research as and when they need it, lending her skills and green thumb.

Largely this was aided with the help of both Mordecai and Phineus Ashenmoore, the current President of the association and good friend. Lydia had always been seesawing over the decision to make it official, and as she had already lent her help to the Association at least once it was not a lot for Phineus to convince her that she was more competent at it than she believed herself to be. With the faith both her husband and her friend put in her, she eventually just made it official.

She doesn’t consider this a career change because she’s not going out of her way to do it, unless it is a matter of importance. But the work she does on the side and the meticulousness with which she does her recording the same way she did her work in the Department of Transport is much appreciated in the BAH.

After a bad year of 2012 Mordecai remained at his wife’s side to keep her supported as she grieved. Though she won’t actually say that she’s recovered she is doing much better and in 2013 she officially became a freelance herbologist with further support from friends to continue pursuing her interests and find a new path to tread in her retirement.
