Bev-Scapades! is a collection of comic strip media put out by Obderedria Pienas. It's centered around a surreal, fantastical version of the real world; the main city is presumed to be London. There’s a rotating cast of characters where every fifth person is some sort of strange creature (humanoid animals, aliens, robots, etc) but stuck within very mundane, relatable issues for the sake of satire. The throughput character is Beverly, a 6.5 foot tall (7 feet with the ears) ashy and black furred humanoid rabbit with horsehair tail, who drags people into weird adventures.

The illustrated depiction of Beverly seen in this media.

The main comic strip uses a 3-4 panel, gag a day format printed Monday thru Friday, with full color multi-panel or activity pages on Sunday. There’s a strange sense of continuity built up through story arcs. The muggle and wizarding press versions of these comics have different continuities, although some gags and scenes are reused between them.

Muggle Press

Obderedria enjoys a modest but robust income from her muggle publishers. Bev-Scapades! is published in newsprint and online scans. Her publishers find her eccentric but prolific in her volume of output; Drea being aided in magic during her process.

There’s also full color collections and a line of activity books for children.

Wizarding Press

Somewhat ironically, the character of Beverly is a little more niche in the wizarding strips. The panels feature moving characters, text, and art effects in all related media. Beverly and some notable characters in the muggle version are present but a lot of the particulars are changed to appeal to a magical audience.

There’s several international magic schools, such as “Piggylumps,” and gags centered on magical topics, although muggleborns will appreciate certain pop culture references. Beverly doesn’t use a wand and a frequent gag are the ‘wix characters’ stuck using other things (like spoons, carrots, or back-scratchers) in place of lost wands.

Studio

Obderedria draws her cartoons on her artist’s table at #3D Hiraeth Gardens, during her days off and afternoons following her 3-morning Sugarplum's Sweets Shop shift. She aims to keep a month’s work of cartoon strips in her backlog. Arts are mailed to the appropriate publisher. She’ll invite clients over to her flat but also makes periodic visits to each publisher.

Otherwise, most of Drea’s wizarding illustrations are commissioned for specific needs of the client. The Quibbler finds her style a riot for articles, for example. She also does special spreads tied to events or holidays, like staff caricatures in Witch Weekly’s Valentines issue mentioned in More Than Just Drinks?.
