Bilqis "Billy" Ismail grew up across the pond in Maryland, D.C. She is the second youngest child of large family and has been living in the UK since she was fifteen. She is married to a muggle, Harry Flowers, who owns Burke & Bear.
On paper, Bilqis is a freelance potioner who grows most of her own ingredients and works from home. Her real income comes from growing small-batches of quality gillyweed, which she distributes through a very small network of dealers.
After the legalisation of Gillyweed, Bilqis set up shop above Burke & Bear. A little place called The Billy Goat that can only be accessed through the boxing gym. Most of its customers owl in to request delivery by one of Billy's many runners or assistants.
History
When Billy's mother divorced, she decided to accept a Potioneer job in London - taking Billy and Yakob along, though at the time they were only fourteen and fifteen, and returned to the US for schooling during term time.
After school, Bilqis worked at potions shops and the odd greenhouse. She started growing gillyweed to make a little extra money on the side, but things started taking off before she knew it. After marrying Harry, Billy started pouring more work and energy into her side-hustle.
