The History of Minerva McGonagall is well known by most of the wizarding public. It's difficult to think of Hogwarts without thinking of Minerva McGonagall, who has been a patron of the school for more than half a century. After the Battle of Hogwarts, Minerva served as Headmistress of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry until 2006, when she handed the reigns over to Knox Greyfriar.
She served as a member of the Hogwarts Board of Governors for the following four years until she was once again offered the post of Headmistress, upon the untimely resignation of Herschel Reid.
Minerva is currently the Headmistress of Hogwarts School, as well as an elder on the Wizengamot. She's a recent recipient of the Order of Merlin: First Class and is a cat animagus.
