This template creates an infobox suitable for all character pages. In addition to the infobox, this template will also add a number of categories as well as create a Cargo table for the character.

This template is extremely modular. It has over 50 different parameters that can be filled in, but any of those can be left blank and the item will not show on the page. There are hide parameters that when not left blank will also hide the corresponding section title if, for instance, the section has been otherwise left blank. Usage

The template is filled out using the Character Form.

The character infobox uses lowercase parameter names, as shown in the box (at right). Any parameters left blank will not be displayed. If none of the parameters are filled in for a section, the section title will not appear on the page.

|status= - The activity/type status of a character: Active, Inactive, Secondary, NPC, Retired. Form entry is a dropdown list.
|npc= - The Type of NPC: Open, Reference, Personal Message, Restricted. Form entry is a dropdown list.
|adopt= - Is this NPC character adoptable. Form entry is a Checkbox.
|member= - Member name. Can be Absit Omen for AO NPCs or Canon for Canon NPCs.
|memberBoard= - URL to memberboard.
|network= - URL to Character Network.
|threads= - URL to Character Threads Tag or List.
|playby= - Name of the character's playby.
|givenname= - Given (First) name of the character.
|surname= - Surname (Last name) of the character.
|suffix= - Suffix (Generational numbers or abbreviations). Form entry is a dropdown list.
|maidenname= - Maiden name (Original Last name of character before marriage) of the character.
|alias= - Any other names the character goes by.
|biography= - URL to biography.
|image= - Avatar file name, without the File: prefix.
|house= - The House/School of a character. Should be Hogwarts House or Other School Names. Form entry is a dropdown list.
|blood= - The blood status of a character. Pure-blood, Half-blood, Muggle-born, Half-breed, or Creature.
|birthYear= - The Birth Year of the character, YYYY.
|birthMonth= - The Birth Month of the character, MM.
|birthDay= - The Birth Day of the character, DD.
|deathYear= - The Death Year of the character, YYYY, if deceased.
|deathMonth= - The Death Month of the character, MM, if deceased.
|deathDay= - The Death Day of the character, DD, if deceased.
|birthCity= - The character's city of birth.
|city= - The city the character currently lives in.
|residence= - Address or name of character's home.
|species= - Leave blank unless character is not fully human.
|gender= - Character's gender.
|height= - Character's height.
|hair= - Hair colour.
|eyes= - Eye colour.
|skin= - Skin colour.
|marks= - Distinguishing marks, tattoos, scars, etc.
|father= - Name of the character's father. Will automatically link to father's wiki page or to form for creating father's wiki page.
|mother= - Name of the character's mother. Will automatically link to mother's wiki page or to form for creating mother's wiki page.
|stepmother= - Name of the character's stepfather. Will automatically link to stepfather's wiki page or to form for creating stepfather's wiki page.
|stepfather= - Name of the character's stepmother. Will automatically link to stepmother's wiki page or to form for creating stepmother's wiki page.
|adoptiveFather= - Name of the character's adoptive father. Will automatically link to adoptive father's wiki page or to form for creating adoptive father's wiki page.
|adoptiveMother= - Name of the character's adoptive mother. Will automatically link to adoptive mother's wiki page or to form for creating adoptive mother's wiki page.
|siblings= - Name(s) of character's siblings, separated by semi-colon(;). Will automatically link to siblings wiki pages' or to forms for creating siblings' wiki pages.
|spouse= - Name of the character's spouse. Will automatically link to spouse's wiki page or to form for creating spouse's wiki page.
|children= - Name(s) of character's children, separated by semi-colon(;). Will automatically link to children's wiki pages' or to forms for creating children's wiki pages.
|extFamily= - Name(s) of character's selected extended family. Use a list for multiple names and link the names.
|pet= - Name of the character's pet.
|familyTree= - URL to character's family tree.
|relationship= - Holds instances of the {{Character infobox/relationship}} template. Has the following parameters:
|relationshipType= - The type of relationship. Options are Single, Dating, Married, Engaged, Separated, Divorced, Widowed, Civil Union, Domestic Partnership, In a Relationship, Complicated.
|relationshipWith= - The person the character is in specified relationship with.
|boggart= - What does a boggart turn into when the character sees it?
|patronus= - What is the character's patronus' corporeal form?
|wands= - Holds instances of the {{Character infobox/wand}} template. Has the following parameters:
|wand= - Short (wand wood, core, length, rigidity, surface and shape) description of the character's wand. Wand Lore
|wandmaker= - Who made the character's wand?
|specialAbilities= - List of special abilites: Animagus, Legilimens, Metamorphmagi, Occlumens, Parseltongue, Seer, Veela Charm. Form input are checkboxes.
|animagus= - Available in form when Animagus special ability is checked. The character's animagus form.
|occupation= - Holds instances of the {{Character infobox/occupation}} template. Has the following parameters:
|hideYear= - For characters that did not attend a school of wizardry.
|notGraduate= - For characters that did not graduate from a wizarding school. (Not for home schooled characters.
|hideCategories= - Special parameter to not add categories to page.
