Location
Diagon Alley, London, UK.
From the outside, Spellpunk is a very small and unremarkable shop, haphazardly squeezed between two other stores. Signs labeling the nightclub are in the form of fliers and posters in the windows. It is not accessible during the day.
Appearance
Some of its staff fondly call Spellpunk 'The Underground' because of its locale. The club proper is reached through an old-fashioned iron-grate lift that can move six people at a time from the upper level to the club floor. There is also a spiral staircase for those who wish to walk and avoid the lift queues.
Also on the main floor is a desk where patrons pay entry fee (usually 3 sickles). Under 17s get a red stamp on their right hand. Over 17s get a purple stamp on the same hand. This is for the barmen to know who can be served alcohol legally.
Spellpunk proper resembles what it is: a large underground room. The walls are glass, metal or stone brick with sweeping arches and a high single. The lights resemble natural crystal formations or are swinging from antique-looking lanterns. The space is mostly taken up be a dance floor, with a few couches and chairs along the walls. There is a stage for live bands and DJs and two bars that serve a variety of specialty cocktails, alcohol optional depending on who orders.
The most spectacular sight of Spellpunk is the ceiling. A large glass portal is enchanted, much like the Hogwarts' Great Hall, to reflect the night sky. Occasionally, this is changed to an underwater scene.
