Soundsnatchers
From Absit Omen Lexicon
A Soundsnatcher (also Soundsnatches) are egg shaped crystalline orbs that look to contain a series of moving bubbles, intensity based on volume of contents. They are used to record and playback underwater sounds, specifically for Mermish.
The golden egg artifacts used in the 1994 TriWizard Tournament are the predecessors of this device.
At Absit Omen
Heliotrope LeJean catalogs soundsnatches as part of her job as a Mermish Translator.
