Jenevive is a solo Cursebreaker selling to whoever the highest bidder is, though ultimately she cares more for the adventure then the money, or ethics of what she does. She has a hard time keeping friends, primarily because she stabs them in the back constantly, even if she does attempt to make it up to them later.
Appearance
Jenevive stands around 5ft5 with a lean and athletic build, able to hold her weight and run for periods of time that are needed when she goes on adventures, her body holds several scars and bruises over it from previous injuries, though none are overly prominent.
She keeps her blonde hair short and frequently wears it tied up for convenience, she rarely wears makeup as she doesn’t see a use in day to day life.
She likes to wear clothing that is either loose enough it flows easily and gives her freedom of movement, or tight enough that its like a second skin and wouldn’t impede her movement, this is on a typical basis however, if she’s not expecting to cause trouble or be in trouble she’s happy to wear whatever is comfy, though she loves to make sure she’s got plenty of pockets, especially those she’s enchanted for extra space to organise items.
Personality
Jenevive is highly adventure seeking, she loves to take risks and thrills, which is what drives her adventure seeking, while she enjoys having a reputation she does not do it for fame or glory but purely for the thrill of a new risk and adventure and of not knowing what is to happen next.
Ultimately the money she gets at the end of a job is not so much the goal, just the means for another adventure, though she knows the worth of each one and doesn’t want to come out worse for wear from it. This also tends to mean she doesn’t care who she sells the treasures to, more that it is sold to the one who’s offer most fits her own, though she has some slights about trying to sell artefacts and treasures to the culture or country it belongs to first, she ultimately doesn’t really care about it or the ethics.
Her thrill of adventure means she often cannot stay in one place for too long, mainly as she’d keep doing dangerous or stupid things that’d cause trouble, or be deemed as a crime by others. This problem of being unable to stay in one place has also led to her being unable to keep relationships, at least any romantic ones, as she’d frequently jump from one prospect to another, often to the annoyance of her previous partner and what few friends she has.
With her recklessness and addiction to thrill seeking, she very often finds herself betraying and backstabbing those she’s with to get herself out of situations, though she does value friendship she just has no idea how to express it or let it be known, she will attempt to get those she likes however out of bad situations, often ones she put them in though.
History
Jenevive was born in Salem, her father being a British Wix and her mother a Wix from Salem, both being Magizoologists meant they worked together often before getting together and having a child.
When she was around 7, they moved to the UK to have easy access to Europe so that they might research into other magical creatures, along with to help be near her grandmother on her fathers side so they could aid in her failing health.
At the age of 11 she started in Hogwarts and joined Slytherin, she got along well with her house and class mates and was known for being adventurous, always seeking the hidden passages and treasures of Hogwarts. Outside of School she would join her parents in their expeditions to find magical creatures or tending to them, helping them in their work and visiting the Ministry with them.
In her Fourth year of Hogwarts she was evacuated as the Battle of Hogwarts began, her parents while not happy with everything going on, were for the most part able to avoid Voldemort's reign, with Jenevive during her school term using previously found hiding spots to avoid the Carrows and other activities.
She’d later graduate in 2002, with high grades in Arithmancy, Runes, History of Magic and Defense Against the Dark Arts. Where following Hogwarts she was taken on as an apprentice to a more veteran Cursebreaker.
She’d work with them for several years before working by herself under the same company, often times teaming up with her old mentor. However at the age of 28 she decided to strike out on her her own and go independent.
Now working by herself with the contacts she’d made over the years, she would begin going after whatever treasure she liked and selling to the highest bidder, not caring about the ramifications of stealing other cultures treasures and artefacts to sell for her own gain, she viewed it as better to get all the money for herself then some collector, and she could ensure things went to the proper people…those with the most money. Though she always makes some attempts to sell to collectors sharing the same origins or keeping the relics in country, mostly however as it was easier to sell the stuff quickly over getting it out of country.
Over the following few years she’s built up a reputation, for better and worse for her skills, being skilled and willing to take any Cursebreaking jobs, but also for her practices and ethics in how she conducted herself.
As a Cursebreaker, Jenevive roams the world interacting with ancient ruins, or hidden sites to find treasures, though she has no company she works for so she’ll sell to the highest bidder, though while she cares little as to who she sells to, she’ll try to sell stuff in the country she found it in.
Jenevive was hired as a Cursebreaker almost immediately out of Hogwarts as an apprentice, getting some actual training from a more experienced Cursebreaker who she worked under for several years before running solo, and later with some contacts set up and a reputation she broke into independent work at the age of 28. Where she has continued to be since.
