Where Addie is the ball of energy, extremely bubbly and more than eager to take limelight, Alfie is the best wingman she, anyone really could ask for. He has heart, moxie -- what else could you ask for in a Delacroix?
Physical Description
Of the two Delacroix children who have come thru the hallowed grounds of Hogwarts, Alfie has become the taller of the two. He clears his older sister by mere bits and relinquishes the fact that he can tower over her, much to her irritancies when it is played off as such. Alfie isn't overly muscle bound but he is keen to keep fit enough so he can keep up with those around him. He's recently been keen in keeping up his body image because he knows how sickly he looked roughly a year ago.
Alfie has a pleasant countenance, having inherited genes that compliment both Anneliese and Malcolm both. His hair has settled on dusty brown, and his eyes are hazel (greenish brown most often), but have been known to take on shades of clothing at times as well.
Definitely not as eclectic as Addie was in her school days, Alfie's wardrobe can find himself in comfy jumpers, typically in all sorts of colors -- Hufflepuff yellows and Slytherin greens, no less -- but he isn't shy in sporting pride in the professionals he prefers to partake of in his life.
Summertime, outside of Hogwarts finds him in more relaxed clothing. Generally speaking, Alfie enjoys comfort more than style, even if there are sometimes those little fashion faux pas.
Personality Description
Alfie is very much a lion personality: fierce, loyal (even to faults), passionate, observant. Goal oriented and driven by said goals. Where Addie was (and still is) keen in friendly competition, Alfie has been one with the desire to prove his mettle, worth. It definitely made him have the perceptions by others that he was impulsive and unwilling to yield.
However, within the last year, Alfie has yielded most certainly with a new outlook on life. Almost not making it and becoming a ghost does that to you. You realise that you can be only so brave, so content in being bold and self-reliant to where you isolate yourself. Nowadays, he's willing more to open arms, hands and offer you aid rather than assuming you wanted it right away.
Alfie has never shied away from loyalties nor bravery. Though not always evident, Alfie shows the capacity of selflessness, even if it can't be seen with at times, stubborn streak showing itself instead. Alfie is prepared to defend his friends, family's honor to ensure there is no wrongdoing, misgivings spoken about them if the information happens to be of the gossip, ill-made means talk. This can make it seem he is unyielding, and this could be very true, however, Alfie is also willing to accept responsibility for misunderstandings.
History
Alfred Raoul Delacroix, Alfie (Fee to his sister alone), was born during turbulent times. Voldemort's rise to second life proved that one had to be cautious and secretive, not to mention exceedingly protective of family. Anneliese and Malcolm had purposely stayed in Portsmouth. They had been avoiding bringing much attention to themselves as the magical, non-magical communities began to bleed upon themselves and Anneliese realised that there was work that still needed to be done.
The pair already had one child in the world -- Addie -- when Anneliese's younger brother, Armand, had decided upon himself to engage in rather idiotic heroics of sorts. Playing duality to the fiddle of life and for it, costing his own life and his own family not knowing the truths to his bravery until years later. Brasov bearing witness to it while Anneliese beat herself over not trying better, harder.
Though, it seemed, grief always finds happiness and in said happiness, Addie became a big sister to Alfie when he was born through these dark times. Alfie was a happy and curious baby, often one to go and steal toys from big sister's things, ending with the pair fussing at one another. He was adored and loved endlessly, Alfie was aware of this on a daily basis and never shied from knowing any different. The pair were kept from the magical warring and with it, the home in Portsmouth was the perfect place for the family, even if magic still trickled its way into their lives.
Alfie and Addie both definitely did take a notice of a change in their mother's mannerisms and behavior, especially when she didn't seem to be as lightning quick as before. It didn't help Anneliese had been involved in the Battle at Hogwarts and fortunately, one who had survived but not without the memories of that day.
The pair of siblings were still as ever close as siblings in close age proximity can be, but it proved somewhat a difficult task for little Fee to be separated from Addie when it came time for Muggle schooling. Addie thrived on creativity while Alfie lived on the mission of exploration and both were curious children all the same. They still looked out for one another when it came time for the playground, often Addie pulling Alfie in for sidekick heroics.
Then, it seemed, things began to change for the first time. Addie and her Hogwarts letter. Alfie knew of Hogwarts, after all, but it felt different knowing of the place and that your big sister wasn't going to be with you around the school yards anymore. Everyone gushed and fawned, but Alfie felt like this was the end for them even though Addie promised to write. He took her up on the offer and Anneliese promised the youngest Delacroix of the house that they'd be able to write to Addie also.
And so, off Addie went, a Hufflepuff in the making and Alfie eagerly awaiting the chance to read the latest from Aeolus or send Aeolus back with his own stories. This went off and on for a couple of years, stories and then some, until leading up to Alfie's own Hogwarts letter. Alfie was ecstatic at the thoughts of being able to join his big sister and where his mum's side had all gone to.
With arrivals to Hogwarts brought on newer challenges, Alfie learned. Firstly, he was sorted into Gryffindor and so, the likelihood of sharing a house, common room vanished in an instant. Then came the realizations that Addie was in her own realm and now, that meant Fee had to fly out on his own. And so, Alfie did just that. His grades, fueled by a drive for success, and yet, the desires of wanting to spend a little more time outdoors played a big part in his first five years.
As Addie graduated and moved onto adulthood, Alfie continued at his best at buckling down, but with also concerns beginning to bubble, rise. In the last parts of his sixth year, Alfie found himself the victim of the effects of Spattergroit. Pulled out from Hogwarts for what would have been his final year, Alfie found himself isolated, removed, and portioned off to St. Mungo's. Granpère Maurice and his parents devoted the efforts (and perhaps a few extra Galleons) to the wing Alfie was stationed for his stint. The months, seasons seemed to be melded into a conglomeration of jumbled time and with it, the longing to be amongst his peers once again. He couldn't send them owls, let alone receive them in turn, but it was clear his heart was more than ready to be reunited with badgers, snakes, ravens, and lions all the same.
A few setbacks seemed to damper the spirit, especially around the holiday season -- after all, not getting to open presents let alone being able to enjoy all those fantastic and wonderful wintertime foods, really does a cruel disservice to a young man. But Alfie continued to push through, desperate to get better and persevere. Spring 2012 could not have come any faster and with, the battle against Spattergroit was at last won. Mungo's was soon a departure and the new arrival was spending what time was left in the school year, being under tutelage from Granpère Maurice, Granmère Margot whilst staying at the chateau in France. Alfie savoured the moments bathing in the warm sunlight while practising, relearning spellwork just as much as enjoying the freedom he now felt anew. Summer 2012 came with its own brief challenges: readmittance to the school he'd longed for, the nerves, concerns, hopeful what-ifs close behind.
Alfie now finds himself ready for this final chapter of Hogwarts, looking to finish what he started while hoping, dreaming for the future and whatever it might hold.
