One Bite Too Many

The Ministry of Magic has issued a warning to the general public, advising caution in dealings with vampires due to the increase of vampire attacks in the last year.
"It is difficult to say precisely why this is happening," admitted Being Division's Consultant Vampire, Tristan Vaillancourt. "Few of these cases emerge from certified covens but there appears to be no motive as to why individual vampires suddenly choose to attack."
Some believe that the rise in attacks can be attributed to increased vampire immigration over the years, following the legalisation of consensual feeding. While these immigrant vampires make up a significant number of violent incidents, they do not constitute the majority.
"Vampires have enjoyed a taste of freedom with changes to legislation in recent years, but nothing replaces their need to hunt." Remarked Auror Nadine Pinn, specialist investigator. "Anyone frequenting a coven should watch their back. If they like what they taste, you better make sure you are their last meal."
Covens across the country have come out to condemn the attacks. "It goes against everything we believe in!" declares a coven leader from Birmingham. "It's appalling that anyone would jeopardize the peaceful, mutually beneficial relationship between ourselves and wixkind."
