All he wanted to do was help. And yet here he was, doing his best to try and make up for his past transgressions against his fellow housemate and all she repaid his kindness with was getting frustrated and misinterpreting his actions. Of course, he'd probably earned this treatment considering that he'd been nothing but a snarky dick toward her and he could've alleviated the tension by saying a few things and reassuring her that he was wanting to try and turn over a new leaf. However, Rou had held his tongue out of fear he'd screw this chance up and all that did was earn him a new round of contempt from Kella.

Well, that went well, thought the boy as Kella gathered her things and opted to move away from him. As she stormed away, nearly tripping in the process, Rou did nothing but watch her with a look of profound sadness and disappointment on his face. When she looked over her shoulder back at him, their eyes met and Roland was overcome with a sorrow born from his training. It was like he could do nothing right and was nothing but a screwup, just like his grandfather had said so many times during his younger years back home in Wales. Instinctively, Rou leaned himself forward and clutched his head with his hands, breathing deeply as he tried to put a rein on his distraught emotional state. He couldn't look weak in front of his fellow students, especially those who liked to prey upon the vulnerable. If they saw him like this, he knew that would make him a target.

And yet he still couldn't help but feel tears begin to well up in his eyes as he remembered having to drill on wand techniques for hours whenever he screwed up once...all so he could be like his father.
