Physical Description:
At 5'8'' and wafer thin, Dido looks like she might resemble a nymph of Greek legend - her demeanour and bearing, on the other hand, definitely resembles the pride of her namesake (first Queen of Carthage). Dido is at home with her skin and she loves herself enough to let it show. She takes good care of her dark brown curls, encouraging the kink at times and wearing them straight at other times.

Her wardrobe is a mish mash of comfort and trendiness, although practically takes priority where her job as a Werewolf Hunter is concerned. Dido loves her trainers and boots and comfortable flats. She experiments with different styles but for the most part her attires give of casual-smart vibes. Although she didn't used to much care about how she looked, Dido has learned how to dress according to occasion.

Personality Description:
Where Dido was once a mess - indecisive and abrasive - she is now more sure of herself. That clever and sporty attitude, which got her through Salem, has been reinforced by five hard-wearing years with the Werewolf Capture Unit. She might come across as argumentative and too-cool-for-you, especially if you aren't a fellow hunter. Hunters and close friends know her to be friendly and always up for a good time.

Dido isn't a naturally patient but she tries to be. Her overt vanity is playful and unserious, often hiding deeper insecurities about her direction in life. As much as she loves her job, she often wonders if being a Hunter is the right way to protect werewolves and their rights.

She is a fiercely independent witch who is happy to date around but not eager to fully commit. Serious relationships do not appeal to her, or at least she hasn't met anyone who can prove otherwise. Dido will bite your head off if you try to psychoanalyse her... luckily, she's easy to forgive and get, and will be back to her usual self later.

History:
 
Dido Tansi was born to Alexandre and Ophelia Tansi one uneventful winter in their small flat in Maryland. Her father was a magical botanist who specialised in treating and cultivating wand woods; he had lived all over America for most of his life. Her mother was a potioneer and a British witch who'd emigrated to D.C. before marrying Alexandre.

CHILDHOOD
Shortly after Dido was born, the couple moved to New York. They had another two kids, a pair of twins eight years younger than Dido. Their childhood was fairly pleasant and integrated with the muggle community around them; all three attended a muggle preschool. Dido attended ballet lessons, which she kept up well into adolescence.

SALEM
Academia started out on shaky legs with Dido. They weren't her strongest suit but she steadily got better throughout the years, especially once it became clear that certain teachers or classmates derived pleasure from watching her fail. Nothing spurned her on better than proving them wrong.

She was an active dancer and duellist at school, performing well enough at either. Similar to her studies, Dido's social life also improved as she grew older. By the time she was in her final year, she had a group of friends who could back her up in a fight. She graduated with an emphasis on Defence, Runes, Potions, Muggle Studies and Charms.

Shortly thereafter, her mother announced that they would be moving to London. Ophelia's grandmother was ill and needed to be looked after - she had no other surviving family, and Ophelia was keen on inheriting the nice house in Hoxton.

LONDON

Early in 2011, Dido and her family settled into her great grandmother's home in east London. Her first move on arriving was to find a part-time job so that she could afford London's ludicrously expensive nightlife. This was eventually attained; Reducto Records was hiring. Even so, she quickly tired of the music and arts scene - the parties and social circles helped build confidence but they weren't in line with her genuine interests.

In 2012, Dido decided to take a Ministry job as PA to the head of the Werewolf Wing on Level Four. Months of working for Bruce Ballentyne, and learning about werewolf rights, deeply changed how Dido looked at the world. She eventually applied to train as a Werewolf Hunter, believing that it was the best way to protect werewolves and change attitudes from within the Ministry.

Describe your job duties and how you go about them:
Dido is a Werewolf Hunter for the WCU. Her work involves intensive training and preparation every month, in anticipation of the full moon. Every full moon, she patrols various areas as part of a group of hunters looking out for escaped or unregistered werewolves. When it isn't a full moon, she investigates rumours and clues to do with unregistered werewolves.

Elaborate on your expertise in your field:
Prior to training, Dido was a clever and extremely comptenent student at Salem. She has excellent spatial awareness and rhythm, and performs well under pressure. Dido has trained and worked as a Hunter for the WCU since 2012. Although it has not been easy, she has grown accustomed to the work and deeply values her colleagues. However, she was involved in the accidental death of a werewolf in 2017 and this has affected her confidence.

The Last Five Years...

Character History 2013 - 2017:

Dido Tansi has grown more comfortable in London over the years - with the help of her roommate and fellow American transplant, Nemo. After she started training as a Hunter for the Werewolf Capture Unit, a big part of her life began to revolve around the Ministry. She resisted allowing it to take over; often finding time to hang out with her non-Ministry friends and family.

After qualifying as a fully trained Hunter, this became more difficult and Dido found herself growing even closer to the teammates on whose abilities she staked her life every full moon. Despite seeing her fair share of violence and misery over the years, she is firmly in support of werewolf rights and a supporter of the Werewolf Alliance.

Dido dated the odd witch and wizard but never really stuck it out with any one in particular. She has developed a fierce love for her independence, and finds the idea of a relationship to be stifling.

In 2017, with Nemo moving back to the US for a year, Dido gave up the flat and returned to her family. It felt strange to be living with her mother and grandmother again, and she was shocked to see how much her twin brothers had grown up without her realising it. They were both at Salem, only in London for holidays. She was initially underwhelemed about being at home. However, their support was invaluable when she became involved in the accidental death of an unregistered werewolf in the summer of 2017.

Upon Nemo's return in 2018, the two witches moved into an apartment in Burgoyne Burbidges Lofts.
