Physical Description:
At 5'8'' and wafer thin, Dido looks like she might resemble a nymph of Greek legend - her demeanour and bearing, on the other hand, definitely resembles the pride of her namesake (first Queen of Carthage). Dido is at home with her skin and she loves herself enough to let it show. She takes good care of her dark brown curls, encouraging the kink at times and wearing them straight at other times.

Clothing wise, her wardrobe is a mishmash of different styles. She likes baggy clothes the best but has recently learned to show a bit more skin, encouraged by her new friends in London as well as the city's progressive fashion trends.

Personality Description:
Dido is a mess. Clever and sporty, she got by at Ilvermony through sheer willpower - her personality in itself was abrasive enough that her teachers begrudgingly graded her well. Peers either liked or hated Dido but they could all agree that once she put her mind to something, it was achievable.

Unfortunately, her mind isn't currently in anything at all. In spite of above average grades, Dido doesn't know what she wants to do with her life now that she finds herself in a new country. She's lost all her old friends and hangouts. Her ambitions had never been longterm in the first place, so she has embraced a whimsical persona: do what feels good and do a lot of it.

She isn't patient but she tries to be. Her overt vanity is playful, hiding deeper insecurities about where she is going in life. Dido will bite your head off if you try to psychoanalyse her... luckily, she's good about going back to being friendly as ever the next day.

History:
 
Dido Tansi was born to Alexandre and Ophelia Tansi one uneventful winter in their small flat in Maryland. Her father was a magical botanist who specialised in treating and cultivating wand woods; he had lived all over America for most of his life. Her mother was a potioneer and a British witch who'd emigrated to D.C. before marrying Alexandre.

CHILDHOOD
Shortly after Dido was born, the couple moved to New York. They had another two kids, a pair of twins eight years younger than Dido. Their childhood was fairly pleasant and integrated with the muggle community around them; all three attended a muggle preschool. Dido attended ballet lessons, which she kept up well into adolescence.

ILVERMONY
Academia started out on shaky legs with Dido. They weren't her strongest suit but she steadily got better throughout the years, especially once it became clear that certain teachers or classmates derived pleasure from watching her fail. Nothing spurned her on better than proving them wrong.

She was an active dancer and duellist at school, performing well enough at either. Similar to her studies, Dido's social life also improved as she grew older. By the time she was in her final year, she had a group of friends who could back her up in a fight. She graduated from Ilvermony with an emphasis on Defence, Runes, Potions, Muggle Studies and Charms.

Shortly thereafter, her mother announced that they would be moving to London. Ophelia's grandmother was ill and needed to be looked after - she had no other surviving family, and Ophelia was keen on inheriting the nice house in Hoxton.

LONDON

Early in 2011, Dido and her family settled into her great grandmother's home in east London. Her first move on arriving was to find a part-time job so that she could afford London's ludicrously expensive nightlife. This was eventually attained; Reducto Records was hiring.

Even with the job, however, she was finding it difficult to make friends. Eventually, a friend of her mother introduced her to Léonie.

Dido was skeptical at first but soon became entirely involved with Léonie's lifestyle. It was fun, different, and she got to be a MUSE. How cool was that?

Describe your job duties and how you go about them:
At Reducto Records, Dido manages the register and organising the first floor. She plays music and dances, and is a pretty chill employee.

As a muse, Dido often poses for her friend Léonie. They experiment with different themes, textures, and philosophies. Sometimes this just means hanging out at Léonie's studio all day and shooting the breeze.

Her knowledge of wizarding music is impressive; she's good at recommending albums to more tentative customers. Dido has no expertise in being a muse except for existing; she does, however, think a lot of her own beauty.

Dido Tansi is a glam and goofy halfblood who works at Reducto Records. She's been swept away by the muggle art world, as the muse of a squib artist, and lives a vaguely hedonistic life. Dido has a friendly but aggressive personality, and is quick to introduce herself.

Why have you chosen to change careers?:
Dido's parents have asked her to consider finding a job that might lead to a proper career path, and pays well. She has also decided that she needs a full-time job if she wants to be able to afford to move out of their home in the near future.

Elaborate on your expertise in this new field:
Before she was an assistant at Reducto Records, Dido has spent most summers playing assistant to her botanist father and potioneer mother. She is quick and pragmatic about sourcing information, ingredients, and doesn't really mind paperwork.

Describe your new job and how you go about doing it:
Dido basically helps organise Bruce Ballentyne's professional life. She takes/delivers messages, arranges the older witch's scheduled meetings, gets her tea and coffee or whatever the werewolf needs to get through the day.
