Many of Dotty’s crimes were against non-magic folk so she’s been shuffled many times thru the muggle criminal justice system, escaping after a few days with her magical abilities. Crimes include:

Much of the varnish is gone and the wood is covered in nicks and scratches. Nearly snapped in half once.
Physical Description: Let’s pull out the thesaurus, shall we? Dirty. Grungy. Polluted. Foul. Yucky. Obscene. Naughty. Crude. Vulgar. Condensed into one person.
Anadotti’s long raven hair is snarled and unkempt, often streaked with dirt. Cleanliness is the last thing on her list, although she never minds looking pretty. She just doesn’t have the effort or patience to do it herself. If anything, she puts cheap makeup on over the grime her face accumulates. She draws semi-permanent tattoos on herself; hearts, stars or pentagrams. The heart tattoos are on her shoulders and the locations of the others keep changing. However when Anadotti does clean up she’s quite the stunner in a gothic beauty sort of way. She’s actually rather short, barely up to five feet, somewhat waifish though you wouldn’t guess given her mixed fashion choices and out of control personality. A treasured pair of platform heels also help.
Her body is always in some kind of angular position, poised for fight or flight. She’s flighty, jerking her head about in quick movements when surveying the land. Or she uses her body as a tool in ham fisted seduction attempts. She likes to accentuate her hips and bum to make up for her lack of bust. Dotty has this way of puckering her lips where only her two front teeth are shown, rodent like. She’s a bit of a scrapper if she can’t get to her wand, mostly wild swipes or knees to the groin.
Her voice is raspy due to years of smokes. At times she may stammer or hesitate when trying to find the right word to say or just make up new ones. At other times she may make rodent-like squeaks or hisses. Her speech is often a stream of consciousness on whatever her frazzled brain is thinking of at that moment.
Anadotti keeps little in the amount of clothing, all of it “collected” from stores or homes without paying. Whatever it may be when worn on Anadotti it will become ripped and stained after a time. For her clothing is disposable, not in a shopaholic mindset but because she can always swipe new gear from somewhere else. Shoes must be able to withstand the elements but if she does dress up she’s attracted to radically high heels.
Personality Description: Anadotti is all about the survival of herself. She’s very wild, spending many years in a drifter's life, living in the woods or slumming in bad neighborhoods. She thrills on causing pain and mischief beyond fighting for survival, often acting rather immature for her age. Being a witch has been the greatest thing for her since it allowed her to get back against so many naysayer enemies, plus it expands her life chances. She would have been dead of starvation or exposure dozens of times if she hadn’t been a witch.
The most crippling of her weaknesses is the need for a quick fix, whether drink or smokes or something more crazy. Given years spent living in her animagus form her approach towards these fixes is very animalistic, along with her needs such as shelter, food and *urp* recreation (i.e. sex). Much like her animagus form, she can be described as squirrelly. Any future prospects of hers are shot and Dotty is horrendous when looking at the future, constantly changing her mind like a Chocolate Frog loping in the wind. There are often abrupt shifts in her desires of the moment. This almost comes off as attention deficiency as she rarely has the patience to wait.
As a criminal, Anadotti lacks subtlety. Something she likes in a shop window? The nearest brick for a smash and grab. A fat wallet in a mark, ripe for the pick pocketing? The nearest brick for a smash and grab. Most of her crimes have been towards muggles with low instances of magic, much easier victims. She’s been in and out trouble with muggle and magical law amongst America and Canada. Her presence in the UK is so far unknown to the British MLE but not for a lack of trying. Politics go right over her head. However, she’s loyal like a pet to anyone that gives her a place to crash and access to her vices. Dotty is attracted to danger and general incivility. With magic or without, Dotty is a mild pyromaniac, along with her other brutal mischief. She’s all for a killer party and is known to gate crash.
Suffice to say, Dotty has never really fully matured. She’s whiny if given a short leash of privileges and hold grudges like a jealous schoolgirl. In fact her use of profanity is…young. Apparently “frock coat” is hilarious, along with words or puns that sound like real swears. Her energy, once out of stupor, is Dotty’s biggest strength but it can get annoying. Her moods can be affected by the season, given years spent as a wild animal. As the weather turns cooler in the fall she hordes food, treasures and other paraphernalia thinking she needs the stuff to survive the winter. Her weight and sleeping patterns fluctuate, her actions more aggressive and her crimes get more risky come autumn. In this “hibernation preparation” mindset as she’ll try to take anything she can grab, stuffing her collections into small hideouts like a nest, as a squirrel hides nuts. In contrast to her skill with lying low, she doesn’t know how not to draw attention to herself. To make sense of the paradox of terms, she only worries about resisting the law when she’s had an altercation with the cops.
Then she will hightail it for the hills or the nearest dive. After two weeks, or when she gets bored, she’ll mosey back to civilization with the juvenile belief that she is invincible. It is much harder for her to live off the land if she isn’t a squirrel.
Somewhere in that scattered mind of Anadotti is quite the knowledge on the Dark Arts, the only subject she has ever voluntarily pursued. Since her school days she’s attempted the most foul and eldritch rituals with mixed success. She’s also picked up the odd trick or two from dark creatures she’s met on her travels, though these relationships never last long. If she can lift her head from the haze long enough to plan she likes to create zombies out of dead animals, mostly ground types as the reanimated flying creatures can't move properly to go airborne. Outside of wild animals, she has yet to commit murder (directly) but you never know if she is pushed far enough into a corner. Dotty is attracted to anything that sounds occult enough, even if it is more of muggle origin than wizard.
All in all, Anadotti is more nuts than a peanut shelling machine, governed by self-destructive tendencies, given years of chemical and magical misuse.

Anadotti Squiggs was born the youngest of three offspring to Joseph and Stephanie Squiggs, a pair of muggles living in Nevada, in the North of “Sin City” Las Vegas. Her older siblings are Max and Nella. The Squiggs family is what you might call “trailer trash.” Growing up in the partially neglected environment provided by Joseph and Stephanie was not easy on the kids. The siblings we never close, with much squabbling and delinquency throughout their childhood. The kids sometimes snuck some of dad’s booze when he was in a drunken stupor.
Anadotti started showing signs of magic ability when she was nine. Most of these outbreaks had to do with bursts of flame. Anything Dotty didn’t like (stupid clothes, elements of elementary school, etc.) caught on fire. Her family thought she was a pyromaniac like in that Stephen King movie. In the year before she would start magical education, Anadotti and the Squiggs were visited by several American wizarding representatives to explain her powers. Max and Nella were completely jealous and Joseph and Stephanie never fully understood. Dotty could have gone to Northwest Witches Academy or Red Rocks Academy but the Salem’s Witches Institute made the most compelling case. The summer before she began schooling a representative guided Dotty through the pairing of her wand and the buying of her school supplies. She started wizarding school in ’97.
SCHOOLING
Anadotti had definite potential at Salem’s, once upon a time, as learning magic caught her attention unlike muggle subjects. She was displeased that magic was nothing like the turning kids into gingerbread or summoning flying monkeys as seen in many Halloween movies. But she disliked going home for the summer and being unable to use magic, although the knowledge of what she was caused her family to mostly leave her alone. The summers in Nevada were enough to recharge all the bad habits that faded over a year at school. Taking to drink and smokes increasingly lingered into the school terms as she got older. After her third year, her SMART scores showed high aptitude in Practical Magic, average in Potions/Herbology, and horrendous Astronomy results.
In her fifth year, Anadotti discovered how to get into the restricted sections of the library. She found information on two subjects that interested her: Animagus Transfiguration and the Dark Arts. The Dark Arts became especially compelling, as there were old rituals that didn’t require wandwork that was detected by the trace. There were even ways of boosting Animagus training that anyone besides Dotty would find unethical. The side effects of Dotty’s experimentation were confusing from an outside view. The staff was baffled by an increase of dead rodents around the school, some in various stages of mutilation. Arcane symbols were carved into trees, bush fires starting amongst wet vegetation. Anadotti was a shade abrasive but didn’t draw attention to her forbidden studies.
Anadotti’s sixth year was the most significant, climaxing in "That Incident” at the end of the year, an event that has marred Salem’s since May of 2003. It started when Anadotti began to develop a following of girls. Without trying she slowly corrupted some of the younger students that looked up to her. These girls developed something akin to a witches’ coven of old, meeting during the night in hidden passageways and unused classrooms. Dotty got them to take smuggled booze. She taught them the forbidden knowledge she’d snuck from the library, presenting the Dark Arts as thrilling and sensational. If any girl was afraid, she was in too deep to get out, not wanting to betray the group and receive Dotty’s wrath. Anadotti was feeling powerful and wicked, accelerating in Dark Arts knowledge and Animagus training. She was so close to transforming into an animal.
May 23rd, 2003, the night of “That Incident”. It began with a vehement thunderstorm that rolled in early evening. Anadotti led her “coven” out to catch a lightning bolt. This was the most extreme thing the girls had done thus far. The going in the storm was rough and tragedy struck when the girls made it to a seaside cliff. A fourth year, Stacey, slipped from the cliff, too quick for the other girls to do anything. When they found a way to sea level they found her dead body amongst the rocks. She had landed headfirst. The girls were temporarily mortified. Then Anadotti’s true colors came through. She saw Stacey’s death as a brilliant opportunity to change plans. She attempted the process to turn Stacey’s body into an Inferius. The other girls ran in terror back to the school, alerting a teacher of what Anadotti was doing. She was found still huddled over Stacey’s remains, trying to get the magic to work. She was detained until magical law enforcement could be called in, her wand confiscated. Dotty wanted nothing to do with being expelled and arrested so during a point when she was unsupervised she started an animagus transfiguration for the first time. After an effort she had become a flying squirrel. As a small rodent she was able to escape the school, climbing and gliding through the trees. Her disappearance from school caused even more confusion, as Dotty had never told anyone about her animagus experiments. After some years she was declared dead, her wand destroyed.
AFTER SCHOOL
Having dropped out, Anadotti spent two years in the wild stuck in her animagus form, long enough that the American magical community considered her to be dead. Word of her disappearance was sent to her family but they more or less didn’t care as she was a freak.
It was a chance encounter with a hag in Canada that returned Anadotti back into a human. The hag had caught her in a trap for some ritual and unknowingly forced Anadotti into human form. The initial shock led to some friction between the two as Dotty spent a few days in the hag’s cave regaining her human acuity. Magical methods were exchanged, Dotty with what Dark Arts she could remember, the Hag with some naturalistic magic. Eventually animosity developed between the two and Dotty was kicked out.
Penniless and homeless, with nothing but her animagus ability, Anadotti drifted her way along the woods and streets. She committed constant petty thefts for survival, sometimes living as a squirrel for a stretch because it was simpler. On the occasions she was arrested by law enforcement Anadotti would wait until she was unwatched then use her animagus ability to disappear. She nicked herself a well worn wand from a junk shop and continued her attempts at necromancy, eventually specializing in creating undead animals.
After a few years of this lifestyle, one notable escape landed her in a shipping container bound for England. Only recently has she come to the wizarding UK and has taken to slumming through Knockturn Alley.
Writing Sample: Sum up your character in one paragraph: Anadotti "Dotty" Squiggs is a chaotic social deviant, striving for basic needs and other pleasures. She knows she has nothing and vows to life to the fullest...a hazy, immoral, illicit criminal life but a girl can't be too picky. The very definition of 'squirrelly' she's lived a third of her life as a flying squirrel, mapping sporadic behaviors onto her human life.
