Anadotti "Dotty" Squiggs is an American criminal drifted into the UK looking to carve out her slice of life. Living for years stuck in her Animagus form (Flying Squirrel) plus chemical and magical abuse have made her a nutty, unscrupulous individual.

Dotty never knew she was going to grow up to be a witch. She was the youngest of an older brother and sister, Max and Nella, to Joseph & Stephanie Squiggs. All muggles, all trailer trash living outside of Las Vegas NV, all content within their dysfunctions to the point oblivious parody. Dotty was the terror to her sister, for starters, and all three got into their parents' not well hidden stash of cigarettes & booze on a regular basis. Right brats ignorant of their background, mixed American with possible indigenous ancestry, but they were only focused on getting through life when given the crap end of the stick.
Which changed matters when Dotty was discovered as a witch. Suddenly, Dotty had an extra reason to be special, to maybe make something else out of her life, as rude and cruel as she could be. Maybe life at a magical school would shape her right? Hell no! Although if she had selected Red Rocks Academy instead of Salem Witches Institute of Magic when school representatives came recruiting, maybe certain tragedies could have been avoided. But boarding near the site of those Witch Trials (regardless of full history) on the east coast sounded a lot better than this frockin' desert heat. And they pick up the students at Salem's in a giant dragodirigible! And the Headmaster owned a monstrous stuffed crocogator, how rad is that!?
Whatever good discipline Dotty developed over the years was shredded with summers returned home to Nevada, with all the old habits to fall back on near Sin City. To the point her bad attitude followed her into her the latter half of her studies at Salem's. She attracted the attention of some younger witches: Annette, Becca, Donna & Stacey. They formed something of a new age coven, got up to plenty of mischief looking into the Dark Arts. Dotty had some transfiguration talent and wanted to become an animagus like Prof Yolanda Valdaine of their Transmutation classes, who could turn into a bear. But Dotty liked to cut corners with very unethical approaches to magic. Culminating in a string of strange animal mutilations found around Salem's to the theft of a lightning rod from the Meteorological Tower. May 23rd, 2003, the night of Stacey’s accidental death (The Incident) due to said lightning rod crushing her. But Dotty’s true cruelty was shown with the immediate thought of reviving Stacey as an undead construct. Freaking the other girls out, who alerted Prof Sebastian Cadmon, who in turn roused Headmaster Ferreole LeBeau. Dotty was facing expulsion but not wanting to get caught, completed an irregular animagus ritual to flee the school.
Her original wand was snapped but Dotty had disappeared. The nature of her transformation had left her unable to reverse it on her own, although she retained both human wit and animal instinct. She was a wild animal for several years. An encounter with a hag undid the transformation, to both their disbelief, as Dotty began the first of endless couch crashing bunking in the hag’s cave until she kicked her out. Dotty was on the lam for several crimes against muggles and wix, her family uncaring that she had disappeared. Up until she got trapped in a shipping container of breakfast cereal bound for the UK...

Early 2010s
Dotty left a very unusual impression as an American transplant lowlife in the criminal underbelly of modern wizarding UK. Hanging around dumpsters for a time, two early allies were Lexus Dale and Dietrich Eisenberg. The former (prior to revamp) was a werewolf fleeing Canada who was running a potions shop in Knockturn Alley as a criminal informant, giving Dotty a cure for one of her binges. The latter let Dotty crash in the attic space above The Inkwell, with the promise of doing odd favors for the acquisition of the tattoo parlor's more unusually sourced ingredients. Good will Dotty absolutely squandered by not taking things seriously. She got mugged by Vesta Baddrick when moving wares for The Inkwell, staving off an Organ-Liquefying Curse by transforming into a squirrel as she tries to find a way back into Knockturn Alley. Dietrich, surprised at discovering Dotty's animagus ability via a half-rotting squirrel scaring his girlfriend/receptionist, drops her off at St. Mungo's. Where Dotty is a less than ideal patient, and almost blabs everything to auror trainees Rémy Sharp & Tarelin Faust overseen by Samuel Harcroft.
Starting the first of several debts, Dotty's main M.O. is trying to burgle and pawn several wares across both Diagon and Knockturn Alley. Especially robbing junk stores and apothecaries, even eating her vittles out of the latter when she can't score Dragon Jerky or her favorite Blue Toad imported from the Americas. Recently graduated Eleanor St. James finds Dotty's unexpected assistance in grifing a pawnbroker, leading to the photographer attempting to mold Dotty into a street chic model. A taste of, maybe, a more legit career, not that Dotty can ever stay out of trouble for long with her self-centered personality. She also pesters the likes of aurors Berkeley Cavanaugh and Vivian Callen with various minor infractions.
Dotty also falls in line with Dazmond Wiedman, illegal potions brewer and smuggler, during her time despondent as she waits out husband Nate Briggs serving a sentence in Azakaban. In sticking with Daz, Dotty was also introduced to those associated with the Black Chimaera and kingpin Cináed Tawse schemes such as muggle/werewolf bloodsports. Dotty is also friendly enough with some local hags and vampires, as per a Mock vampire hunt on Halloween 2009, before attracting the advances of Wolfgang Storm looking for an escort.
Upon hearing of Salem's involvement with the TetraWizard Tournament, Dotty does her best attempts to lay low with more excursions in Hogsmeade when getting out of dodge in London. She has to pull off some favors for Izola Bellamane after a glow-up. Come January 2010, Dotty's services picked up by Martin O'Doherty and Ainbheartach O'Doherty, with the mishandling of a bungled burgling of a Russian artifact leading to the events of the Godric's Hollow Explosion Investigation.
Come March 2010, Dotty is tolerated at the Black Chimera's new location, although her entry to a necromantic Bone fight is disgustingly disturbing. When Dementors attack the hideout Dotty flees, remembering the vents of accidentally killing a fellow student at Salems. Dotty also frequently winds up trapped as a squirrel inside novelty "Mixed Nuts" cans from Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes and Zonko's Joke Shop. She more or less remains a small time criminal in the years from 2010 to 2014.

- Wand(s), pilfered: spellfire generally sub average when adapting to a new wand, as her original one has been destroyed. Favors illicit and American flavored spells.
- Skeleton Key: A big iron key with flexible 'bristles' on one end, unlocks any non-digital lock with the force of an above average Alohomora spell. Origins unknown.
- Croak-A-Corder: Dotty got her hands on one of the prototypes from Rick Donovan's once ran artificing shop, before he became Charms professor at Hogwarts.
Magical Abilities & Skills
Dotty was a reasonably clever if highly mischievous student during her Salem years. A lot of her talents have been squandered in a criminal life seeking the next big trip. Past her buffoonery, she has a lot of dangerous intent more evident whenever she's sober.
Transmutation: Salem's taught a modified class with elements of of both Transfiguration and Alchemy. While Dotty never completed her lessons with more advanced alchemical topics she can recognize the nomenclature. Transforming rivals into other animals via hex or animating objects into other creatures is something of her bread and butter. She also became an animagus whilst still in school, although in a very ill-advised way. To this day she retains some difficulty transforming from human to flying squirrel and back when stressed.
Dark Arts: Dotty eagerly took to looking up several banned subjects at Salem's. This is also the subject she's picked up on the most throughout various criminal endeavors. What dueling output she has (once she has a compatible wand) favors especially nasty curses including two of the three Unforgivable Curses. She has a blunt, unimaginative use of the Imperius Curse at best. She's picked up some of the 'dark natural magic' Hags used for the times she's without a wand. Her signature necromancy is tied to reanimating the skeletons and corpses of animals, usually favoring rodents.
Potions: Dotty is actually meager at Potions, only retaining some knowledge from a Transmusation and Herbology overlap. The only reason to mention it is to note her familiarity with street-level value of illicitly harvested ingredients as a smuggler. She does not always remember what goes with what potion, only how desirable it is (and how much you'd suggest it for a drug trip).
Creatures: More like "The Uncare of Magical Creatures." Although living in the wild by proxy when she's a squirrel for long periods, Dotty retains a very exploitative view of both mundane and magical beasts. She's been picking up more savvy with an increased number of poaching jobs on the strengths and weaknesses of various critters. This extends to the occasional alliance with dark Beings like the aforementioned Hags and Vampires, although Dotty typically ends up the one most used by a venture.

- Tarot Motif: XV - The Devil; representing pleasures, obessions, playfulness, entrapment and materialism. Most commonly depicted as the goat/satyr form of a devil, or Baphomet. It is a card of corruption showing the drawbacks of 'devilish' lines of thought or sin, a card of consequences. Which about inverts the upright=positive, reversed=negative readings seen with the other major arcana. Upright, the Devil signifies lack of fulfillment, emptiness, and powerlessness. The querent might feel a slave to their indulgences, urges and opulent desires. Giving into temptations such as lust, selfishness, greed or self-sabotague, blaming others for your failings. Reversed, the Devil signifies release, restoration, and accountability. Often a painful self-assessment to own up to and make amends for personal failings. Seeking indepence this way is usually empowering, correcting previous bad behavior, but without taking care the querent may wind up unhinged or unstable if they're prone to falling back into old habits.
- Zodiac: The Tiger; suggesting a passionate, self-confident forceful personality that may make for natural leaders or upholders of justice. Boldly competitive and often overconfident. Given her faults Dotty exhibits more negative traits such as cruelty and rebellion. She's also impetuous, unpredictable, irritating and overindulgent.
- Horoscope: Pisces; those born under this sign have uncanny gut instincts, making them insightful and highly adaptable. They make seek creative outlets or spend time alone to re-calibrate both sides of themselves. The function by a "live and let live" ethos.
