A few minutes after the bulletin is posted, a certain pair of Ravenclaws sign up, talking in hushed and excited voices:

A few hours later...

After a terribly upsetting event happens, during which a Mr. Sellaphix may have been such a thing as 'too nice'.

"Too nice! There is such a thing!" Eirene laments again.

Ahem. Two hours later, another name appears, curiously tied to the second name:

Unaware of any underlying conflict, Elaine had no options but to stare at the sign up with quiet disappointment.  There was so much important learning to be had in these hallowed halls but there were some subjects that were sorely lacking.  Penmanship was, clearly, one of them.

With the help of one of the more patient older Slytherins, the list was put into slightly more respectable order, before Elaine deftly added her name to the list.

Almost simultaneously, another name appeared underneath it.  If the rumors were true, they'd be lucky if the museum wasn't left in smoldering ashes by the end of the visit.

Clearly Blake wanted to join the date that seemed to be attracting the other upperclassmen. Not that he minded spending time with the youngsters---afterall he was once that young too---but getting to spend some time with his peers outside of school (albeit with a scholastic purpose) made it a no brainer for him. Although looking at who had signed up so far, Blake figured he was going to have to give Kelvin and some of the other guys a nudge so he wouldn't be quite so outnumbered.

Kelvin wasn't sure why several people had told him he needed to go on the field trip.  Like he hadn't already planned on going to the exhibit.  He just didn't need the extra credit and hadn't worried about going on the field trip.
