Morcant is one of the few Fae who sometimes lives among wixes in human form. He passes himself off as something of a recluse antiquarian.
You may catch sight of him where he presently lives on Candlestick Row, in well-tailored but worn out tweed suits, though you will find that he does not socialise. He is also a common presence at the Hag Market.
Morcant often disappears from society for weeks to months at a time. He abhors the mistreatment of creatures and harbours deep dislike for modern day muggles.
History
In February 2018, Morcant established himself newly in Edinburgh after a long period of hibernation. He has since become a common and quiet fixture at The Blue Ghoul, and keeps a suite of rooms as a long term guest at Pendragon Hotel.
Prior to current circumstances, Morcant has been known by many other names over the centuries.
He is originally a Fae of north-west Wales and has played a part in various local mythologies. Historically, he is emblematic of the Welsh red dragon. Morcant is responsible for the destruction of the Anglo-Saxon white dragon, an act which he deeply regrets.
As a rule he does not interfere with wix affairs and prefers to observe. He also keeps an eye on the affairs of other Fae in regards to humans.
To other Fae, Morcant has a reputation for being crotchety and unpredictable.
Fae Form
Morcant’s true form is that of a brass red dragon - surpassing in size even the largest breed of beast dragon.
In order to maintain his powers as a Fae, he must return to his dwelling in Dinas Emrys, Wales, every seven years. Here, by a lake secreted in an nderground cavern, Morcant can hibernate for months.
Fae Powers
In addition to typical Fae abilities, Morcant possesses the ability of flight, as well as influence over water and fire. He is capable of shapeshifting into various reptilian forms.
Morcant is at the height of strength in Wales, particularly close to his home in Dinas Emrys. As Fae powers are connected to their homes in nature, Morcant is considered particularly powerful by his fellow Fae due to the fact that Dinas Emrys is a historical/protected site.
Most of the plants he keeps are potted and grown in soil brought from Dinas Emrys; some of the plants themselves are also from that corner of Wales.
