Margaret Lemon, better known as Madam Maenad or simply 'Madam', runs a brothel service out of her offices in Knockturn Alley.
Legally, Maenad's Garden is an escort service through which clients may pay for the pleasure of a wix's company. Those in the know are aware that this is a front for sex work.
Not much can be said of Margaret's private life. She is a pleasant if exacting woman to her clients, and a strict but fair employer to those who work in the garden.
Margaret also owns a small, illegal unicorn stable in the Oxfordshire countryside, where her trained ladies specialise in extracting unicorn blood for sale on the black market (or sometimes to the Department of Mysteries for experimental purposes).
Maenad's Garden
Madam Maenad's offices in Knockturn Alley consist of several tastefully decorated rooms in which to receive interested clients. There is also boarding provided for two of three employees who manage shop when Margaret is away, including Etheldred Rawlins.
However, the services provided tend to take place in other locations - a variety of hotels in muggle London, the homes of clients, or one of Maenad's properties in the country.
Sex workers at Maenad's Gardens enter into a blood magic contract with Maenad for an allotted amount of time, or until they have earned a certain amount of money for the Garden. Some workers may terminate their contract early if a client wishes to 'buy them out' by paying the required money upfront.
