Physical Description:

Tom is a tall trim white American wizard with dark brown hair and dark eyes. He was raised in the country but has been a city-dweller his entire adult life, any ruggedness abandoned for activities like lap swimming and golf. Personality:

Tom's life ambition is to improve the lives of American wizarding kind. This is the legacy he wants to leave on the world. It's not an obsession that fuels him in every minute nor drives his every move. There's nothing fanatical about Thomas. What's perhaps more concerning is the steady, constant progress towards that goal on a practical and professional level.

There's nothing volatile about Thomas, but he's not kind either. Deep down he's self-centered and stagnant. He believes he's happy, but he isn't.

History:

Tom was born in small-town Illinois in the 1960s, the second-youngest of four children. The Daylights were magical and proudly middle class. What they had came from carefully tending a family business in house-building.

He attended Salem Witches Institute where he became interested in politics. One summer he met Cassandra Morrow who was part of a program for under-privilaged students interested in Healing. They had a summertime fling and then lost touch.

After Salem, he was taken on as a legal apprentice, and from there on pursued positions in the magical government. He moved through several departments, working for different administrators until he landed in the Federal Bureau of Covert Vigilance, where he would spend the rest of his career.

He got married in 1989 and he and his wife soon had two children, twins: Ava and Justin.

In 1992, he was travelling a great deal and on an extended assignment in Kansas City, he rekindled a romance with Cassandra Morrow, who was also married at the time. The affair lasted two years. In 1994, Cassandra became pregnant. She broke things off with Thomas and never told him he had a daughter, Natalie.

Over the years, Thomas Daylight became very important and well-respected in the Bureau. His time in CAWW and the growing chaos of the mixed magi/nomaj society in he United States convinced him more and more that the so-called secret co-existence could only ever be at the expense of magical people.

Imagine, he thought, that millions of people choosing to relegate themselves to "separate but equal". Imagine, he thought, that an entire people would design second class citizenship for themselves. It no longer made sense.
