Home to Edwin Glass for several decades.

Appearance

The house has four bedrooms, and was built by Muggles. It has a tall hedge at the front of the house, and a gravel driveway. Edwin's old but well preserved car is normally sat on it. The curtains are often drawn even during the day owing to Edwin being out and also to discourage callers.

Downstairs

Inside the front door is an ordinary hallway with a mirror on the wall to the right as you enter. A downstairs lavatory is found to the left. Going straight ahead takes you into the open plan ground floor of the house. In the day, light floods the room, and at night it is lit with low lighting.

To the left is a living room area with two low sofas in an L formation. There is a low coffee table and a fireplace with mirror hung above. A box of floo powder sits at one end of the mantlepiece. There is a rug in front of the fireplace but otherwise the floors are wood or slate. Modern shelves house ornaments. They are an eclectic mix of Muggle and wizarding (though maybe only obvious to the wizarding eye). There is a wireless and a record player amongst things.

Behind this area is a dining table big enough to seat eight, sat before floor to ceiling patio doors. There is a single standing lamp near the windows.

To the right is the kitchen, with large stone sink and a back door leading out to the garden. The garden slopes away behind the house and at the bottom of the garden via a slate path, the apparation point can be found.

The stairs lead up from beside the doorway to the hall, and are open to look down into the living area.

Seasonal Decoration

In December, visitors would note Christmas cards are aligned neatly along the mantlepiece, and a wreath hangs over the mirror above it, but other than that, there is no Christmas tree or other signs of Christmas.

Upstairs

Upstairs there are four bedrooms and a bathroom. One of the bedrooms has been converted into an office space for Edwin and has no bed. Another is his bedroom, and two others are guest bedrooms. One of the guest rooms overlooks the front of the house and was briefly Elixa Mordent's room when she moved to Britain in 2010.

Muggle Status

The house is both visible and accessible to Muggles. Edwin pays council tax and some utilities. There are some electric lights in the house but no complicated electronics. Edwin replaces lightbulbs at a faster rate than a normal muggle household. The whole house is warded against apparition - visitors can apparate to the bottom of the garden and approach via the back door. Since becoming Minister for Magic the house is more heavily warded by the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.
