Sameera Taylor is...pint-sized compared to her boss. This does not make her less of a party girl who takes great delight in getting her way with every single resource available that she can get her hands on. While she tends to give the future a fleeting glance and very much prefers to savour the present, she is hardly a flippant person; her quality lies in her being flexible to adapt and sometimes making slight adjustments when no one's looking so things work in her favour. Very much a true Slytherin.

Despite her rather rule-bending attitude to things, she is very loyal and looks out for the people she works alongside. She will often use her good looks and witty way of talking to get onto people's sides, but from there she keeps secrets so well you could swear she was a black hole for such things. Whispers stop with her. If at any point in time her pursuits are interrupted by someone with whom she works being in danger, she will stop for them.

Meera is very recognisable on sight because of her larged almond-shaped eyes - which are coloured silver. She doesn't like having brown eyes and thinks them boring, so she casts a spell daily to keep her eyes looking that colour. It's not permanent, although she hopes it would be - it disappears when she sleeps. Either way, this makes her very striking since it stands out against her dark skin.

She has long straight hair that she braids into various styles every morning. She never goes to work with the same braid style for more than two days.

About

Born to Canadian lawyer Adrian Taylor and British doctor Isha Varma Bharadwaj, both Muggles, Sameera's introduction to the wizarding world was something memorable for her. She has never looked back on the Muggle world, although her mother sometimes wishes she'd stop being "addicted to that wand-waving". Her father tended to be very absent from her life since he was based in Canada, but they loved each other nonetheless. Her flat is full of Canadian souvenirs and trinkets for this reason, since it was her father who would send her these gifts while he was away.

Sameera excelled in social and cerebral subjects such as Muggle Studies, Charms, Transfiguration, and Potions. Her experiences of the First Wizarding War were not great, owing to the fact that she often feared for her parents' lives during the war - in fact, after the First War ended, she left for Canada with her mother to stay with her father. As a result she missed the entire Second Wizarding War, only returning in 1998 to work in the Department of International Magical Cooperation due to her knowledge of Canadian wizarding law.

In January 2009, her father died in a car crash. Sameera and her mother left Britain again to see to the funeral and close up his remaining dues. Isha decided to stay in Canada since she was still grieving for her husband, but Sameera, wanting to get away from the grief, returned to England in April 2009. She joined the Improper Use of Magic Office to distance herself from her memories of her father since her time in the IMC, and because there weren't really that many promotion opportunities for her in the IMC.

At Work

Mordecai Hollingbury was impressed with how quickly she learned and adapted in the office. In July 2009 he appointed her as his Deputy Head. As far as he's concerned, she takes her enjoyment of suggesting rule-bending to him a little bit much considering she knows how rule-abiding he is, but he has to admit that she is..."expanding his horizons", so to speak.

She has a lot of sympathy for him because he lived through both Wizarding Wars and she admires him for having the resolve to do that, as opposed to her leaving England because she didn't want to deal with the wake left by the First War. As a result she keeps a very honest, considerate approach to him and gives him space when he needs it. In return, Mordecai has respected her and given her the recognition she desired. She loves having power, but because Mordecai has a large sign in his office that reads "True strength is knowing when not to use power" she is mindful of flaunting it.

Her Patronus

Is a Western Moose the size of a car. The car crash her father died in was due to a moose crossing the road and he hadn't swerved in time. Instead of making it her grief, she's made it her champion to remind herself of her father. It's powered by every single good memory of her father.
