At the sound of her name, Jacoba set her glass on the bar and turned around to greet the younger woman with a bright grin, a quick hug and a friendly peck on the cheek.  "Allo!" she greeted as dropped her hands and regained control of her drink.

"Roger!"  Abby's arrival had been expected.  Roger's hadn't been, though it was a pleasant surprise.  "I didn't know you knew each other!"  Jacoba set her drink down once more and repeated the hug and cheek kiss greeting with the fellow before casting a glance over her shoulder and down the bar.  With an apparent nod of satisfaction, she turned back to the pair of squibs.

“I’ve been looking for you! How’d you get in? Roger got us in.”

"Ja," Jacoba said, leaning in towards the pair of them to both increase their chances and decrease their neighbors chances of hearing her over the music and other conversations.  "Seems their open bar policy isn't as open as usual this evening.  How'd you two-"

Jacoba cast a glance towards Roger and grinned.  "I'm sure he did."  She didn't know the details.  Sometimes, with Roger, it was better not to know the details.

"Same way you did." Jacoba grinned brightly at Abby.  "Just found the right guy to latch on to.  I just happened to find an actual wizard.  He thinks he's taking me home."  She nodded again down the bar, more directly to a wizard, mid 30s, who seemed to be nodding off over his own drink two stools down.  "He conveniently seems to have forgotten about the arrangement about two firewhiskeys ago.  You can always tell the type."

"Ye two headed for a ladies night out, eh?"

Jacoba grinned and nodded, winking at Abby.  "We were!  Figured we'd see what mischief we could find in Diagon and, maybe, venture out if it got dull.  No real plans.  You're welcome to be an honorary lady for the evening."

It was hard not t'grin at Jacboba and her nifty ways. 'Least she had a bloody easier time gettin' in than the pair o'them did! Roger dug his hands into his jacket pockets, retreating back into a hunch as he held his position against the jostling crowd behind him.

"We were!  Figured we'd see what mischief we could find in Diagon and, maybe, venture out if it got dull.  No real plans.  You're welcome to be an honorary lady for the evening."

He laughed, maybe a li'l louder than he would when proper sober, and shook his head like a tickled mongrel. "Nah, I got me self a date wi'a bottle of ale and some muggle clients 'round the corner." At least he hoped he did, t'would be nice to have some spare coin in 'is wallet. "Ye know how it is, end of the week."

Roger's smile reached his eyes and he exchanged a weary smile with Jacoba b'fore glancing down at the other quin. Nice li'l surprise she was, Abby. All giggles and chatter. "I'll see ye around, aye?" he moved closer and nearly leaned in to a friendly peck on the cheek but caught 'imself, turning the gesture into an awkward offer of handshake. "Nice meetin' ye, lass. I'll  ring ye one of these days."

Giving both the girls another quick nod, Roger turned around and almost immediately disappeared into the Spellpunk crowd like a sheep into the fold. He'd be takin' the stairs up t'avoid them goons by the elevators- and then out of sight from wizarding folk, down t'borin' old London city.... 'cause even a squib would admit, t'wasn't really the same wi'out magic.

Glancing at the poor sod nursing his firewhiskey, Abby shrugged and glanced back at Roger and Jacoba, enjoying Jacoba's amusing stories and Roger's references to dodgy dealings that she couldn't take seriously because he said 'clients', and said it with that cute face of his. And the ale didn't help.

Abby the Giggler giggled, and shook Roger's hand. He could have pecked her cheek and she wouldn't have minded. Hell, now that she felt like she knew him and had some liquid courage, he could have given her a kiss on the lips and she probably wouldn't have minded.

"Yup! If I don't ring you first," Abby called after him. Her mobile was attached to her hip, after all.

"Cute," she announced to Jacoba the second he'd disappeared into the crowd.

"Anyway," Abby gave her friend her full attention, setting her drink down on the counter. "There's a squib club in town. In case you didn't know. It's made up of all the cool people, and we started it, oh, two minutes ago. I'm president, Roger can be secretary - he has the business cards, and you..."

She tilted her head at her. "Treasurer? Public relations? What do you wanna be?"

Jacoba could rest assured (or be warned) that whichever title she picked, Abby would make jokes about it from here on out.

With some vague explanations and a not-very-well-played farewell gesture to Abby, Roger took his leave and disappeared into the crowd.  Jacoba kept a careful eye on the crowd for several moments, even after she'd lost sight of the young man.  But, everyone in their immediate vicinity still seemed rooted in their spot and current activity.  No one seemed to be following the squib out of the club.

"Cute?" Jacoba turned back towards Abby, grinning.  "I suppose.  If you're into the tall, somewhat scrawny type."

Squib club?  Eyebrows arched in confusion, Jacoba turned back towards Abby and leaned in once more.  "There's a club for squibs?" Jacoba repeated, looking for confirmation or clarification.  Granted, she was really only an honorary squib but she assumed that if there was a dance club geared specifically towards squibs that she would have heard of it.

It wasn't until Abby rattled on to designating Jacoba as the club's treasurer or public relations that she realized A) it wasn't a dance club and B) Abby wasn't being entirely serious.

Jacoba barked a laugh and took a sip of her beer.  "You're not what I was expecting," she declared, setting the beer down, again.  "I'm poor.  You'll always have to wonder if I'm swindling if I'm treasurer.  "

"But, you do know I'm not really 'technically' ..."  Jacoba glanced around them.  "...a full fledged member."  Given the current climate of their surroundings, saying 'squib' too many times was probably not wise.  "As such, I want to be the Honorary Counsel."
