Re: [Apr 15] A Small Issue as Evidenced by a Bloody Trail Reply #30 on February 02, 2009, 02:17:14 PM Goodness gracious! Why was there all this commotion about him doing his job? OK, it was a bit blunt and gory, but nevertheless there was a point to it. In his frustration he suddenly put his other hand into his abdomen, his rubber gloves squeaking together in addition to the squelching and sloshing noises of the poor Gryffindor’s insides. Then suddenly, as bluntly as he had put his limbs in there the first time, he withdrew. And the bleeding had stopped.“TA-DA!” he shouted victoriously like a magician who had just put back together his assistant who he had just sawed in half, a ridiculously wide smile plastered all over his face. His gloves, also magically, seemed to have no mess on them.Weird, that one…“I assume you did give him a Replenishing potion, yush?” he slurred a bit. He looked around, seeming a bit lost in the crowd. “Umm… I’ll get out of your way now,” and ducked out. Happening upon poor Nic he squatted down next to the cot she was sitting on, “Feeling a bit vomitous, hmmm yes?” He scratched his chin and then snapped his fingers, “AH! I know JUST the thing!” he shouted with childish glee, disappearing into the office where the proper ingredients were stored. And as soon as Miranda Elliot had Kyle Gibson ship-shape. With the Potioneer having trotted off, and Nicola making splishing noises in the bucket, Knox felt there was no enough bedside privacy to speak with Kyle about what the hell he was thinking."What the hell were you thinking? Two months, Mr. Gibson," he said in a rumbling baritone. "That's all we've got left, you and I. Do you want to spend it like you and I have spent the last seven years, or shall we give ourselves a nice change of pace? And while I have rather enjoyed our afternoon with Madam Elliot, I had envisions something more along the lines of... not a catastrophe?"He paused for a moment, somehow feeling Madam Elliot's eyes on him. "But well done on that quintaped. Would not have been good to have that thing afoot for Remembering Day." An instant later however, the professor pulled his hands out and Kyle gasped air with relief. "Bloody... wait -- what? No... blood." Kyle said, blinking twice at the professor in disbelief. He did not understand how the man could be so cheery all the time. In an instant, the man rushed into the office fetching something for Nicola. Oh... what a day."That's all we've got left, you and I. Do you want to spend it like you and I have spent the last seven years, or shall we give ourselves a nice change of pace? And while I have rather enjoyed our afternoon with Madam Elliot, I had envisions something more along the lines of... not a catastrophe?"Kyle chuckled, though still in pain. "Oh... Greyfriar. You know that amongst all the hollering and lecturing you give me, that deep down inside you love me like I were your irresponsible yet lovable nephew you wish you never had." He said, reaching his hand up to pat the man on the cheek twice, in a condescending yet humorous way. "Why sir, you're my favorite staffer at the school!" He added cheerfully, relieved to have Gunnar's hands out of his guts. "No offense to you, Madam." He added quickly looking to the healer. Perhaps he needed another replenishing potion, as he was still acting a little loopy. But that never hurt anyone did it?"But well done on that quintaped. Would not have been good to have that thing afoot for Remembering Day.""Ohhh yes! I may have injured myself, but the bloody thing I gaurentee you is walking out of the fight a lot worse. Can you believe it? A freakin' MCBOON! It's insanity Knoxxy... insanity. I think that's a five X classification! A wizard killer?" He asked, phrasing the question more to himself than anyone else. "Well I'm not dead am I?" Kyle grinned. "Ha! Victorious I am! Break out the fire whiskey, or perhaps nightshade tea! I heard you fancy that sir! Let's CELEBRATE!" She hated thinking Kyle had done something so stupid yet again. He had done something similar so many times you would think she was used to it. Kyle was reckless and it drove Nicola nuts. Of course if it was Michael in replace of Kyle she would be in an even worse state. The conversation around her did not actually register in Nicola’s mind as words that she could understand, they were just sound. She wasn’t even sure how to comprehend them right now with that feeling of nausea overwhelming her and it was rather annoying. Right now she was just focusing on the floor in hopes to make the world stop spinning. When someone was speaking to her it would register but only then, so the voice of Professor Gunnar snapped her from the dizzy daze. “Huh?” She asked but it was too late because the next thing she new the professor was rushing off. Nicola shook her head and turned back to Kyle. “Oh shut up Kyle!” Nicola would have smacked him side the head over the comment of victory drinks, now was not the time for that. Of course smacking him side the head was out of the question in this current situation. She glanced down at Gibson’s insides and soon remembered to close her mouth that had been hanging open. What the hell? Her eyes once more shot between the young professor and the student now covered in both dried and fresh blood.“I assume you did give him a Replenishing potion, yush?”Her stare quickly turned into a suspicious frown and Miranda’s lips pursed tightly. “Obviously.” She muttered, watching him rush off into her office for something for the girl. After a moment, Miranda shook her head and while Greyfriar and the boy continued to interact, she pointed her wand into the boy’s abdomen and muttered a small charm, causing the blood to go clear under a white light. She saw the puncture but nothing else. There just wasn’t any blood coming from it... What the hell had the potions professor done?“And while I have rather enjoyed our afternoon with Madam Elliot, I had envisions something more along the lines of... not a catastrophe?”As she sealed the puncture with her wand tip, Miranda sent a glance towards the headmaster. Did he not get the idea that giving the boy a lecture could be done AFTER his life had been saved? It would be pretty pointless to lecture him and then watch him die. That would just have been wasted. After the artery was fully sealed, Miranda withdrew her wand and tapped it a couple of times. The blood turned a deep red once more and her wand was placed on the table. The salve was now fully mixed into a green, herbal smelling gunge and with her hand, Miranda smoothed it over the edges of the wound, watching them start to pull together, healing the large gash.“I’d not celebrate yet, Mr Gibson. There’s a small chance what I’ve given you will poison you. And fire whiskey, besides being a drink for those old enough to take it, will slow the process down and make it all the more painful and discomforting for the rest of us. No one likes to hear screams of agony. Puts them off their food.” Skip to next post Re: [Apr 15] A Small Issue as Evidenced by a Bloody Trail Reply #35 on February 13, 2009, 12:01:47 PM “Doo dee doo dee doo…” a rather happily humming voice came from the back room as the sounds of opening and closing cabinets and the grinding of mortar and pestle joined him in chorus. A slight “SQUEAK!” and “Oh bother…” interrupted the song once as something crashed and broke on the floor. The hum continued with some sweeping before the usual noises continued. After a few minutes or so he sauntered right by the commotion going on with the no-longer-bleeding-Kyle Gibson and knelt down next to Nicola again. He held up what looked like a steaming cup of dark green tea held in a red brick mug, “Here you are!” he smiled. “Just be careful not to spill it and take wee sips, eh?” He added to reassure her, “Just an infusion of Wu Bing Shao, Dittany, Ginger, and a good dollop of peppermint syrup to help with the bitterness and spice,” he patted her on the back gently, “within eight sips the vomitousness and ick-pooh will cease,” he finished with a huge toothy grin.
