I, ah, I hope my greeting conveys the nature of what I wish to ask, which is both a favour and challenge. You are, that is, you are maybe familiar with my protégé and young friend, Unspeakable Virgil Carstairs. I regret to inform you (though you, hah, may not be surprised) that he has once again[1] broken his wand beyond repair.

Will you accept a commission for him on my, hm, on my behalf? His previous receptacle was lost to a worthy adventure involving forces of time and death. That, I think, may point you in the right direction.

If you are able, and the challenge is maybe here more than in the craft, to produce a suitable match by his birthday[2] at the end the month, you will have my gratitude and more.
