Katy rolled her eyes when Angie chose to forgo the inspirational speech. She was right, of course. There were no words that could turn them into a confident team. Looking around at their young, motley team, she didn't think there was anything that could. They were to begin with laps.
Laps, she could do that. It was nice and simple. Katy climbed onto her broom and pushed off. She wobbled on the broom, tilting dangerously to the side but she managed to right herself at the last moment. She set off at a reasonable pace, not so slow as to be last but not so fast as to toss her off.
