Originally, just as everything else in her life, Hannah had a wand that is truly efficient to cater for her needs from the well-defined, smooth and equally balanced formation of the wand for easy storage in her lab coat pocket to the pear wood, specifically specialised for healing spells and charms. The hippogriff talon core within the wood aids her charms work while working on her subjects. Hannah requires her wand to become an extension of her hand, also remaining precise and accurate in movement.
She is now on her third wand and fortunately it is still the same type of wood and core.


Hannah is a slim woman reaching a small height of about 5 foot (5"4 with her usual heels). Her hair is wild with a mix a colour from both parents, a medium brown with random streaks of blonde. This long hair is usually scraped back into a scruffy ponytail to keep out of her eyes when working. Thanks to her condition as a werewolf, her hair is bushy, usually untamable.

Hannah used to aim to dress elegantly, enjoying expensive high heels, blouses always paired with black pencil skirts or trousers. The smart dress is always cast away at home, with the woman instead opting to wear comfortable yoga pants and baggy fleeced hooded jumpers.

Her slight body is now covered in mangled scars. Her left forearm is mangled from a werewolf bite and her upper right arm still bears the wounds of an axe taken to it as a wolf. Wrists and neck are also branded with a slim white scar, originally red raw, from silver as she was chained and strangled. Just above her left breast and on her right inner thigh are bright red brands of the letter A.


Hannah is a fighter. At school she was bullied for being different and has always struggled in her work life for never being the sort of witch to befriend or even like. Now, as a presumed criminal and a werewolf, Hannah is a disrespected member of society that still has to fight all the time.

In 1984, before the eighth birthday of his son, Graham, Frederick Emilio Bombay left his wife and said son to instead move in with his lover who so happened to be ten years younger than his previous wife, Cindy. He moved from sussex in the south of England up to the small town of Bewdley in the west midlands. They married and 9 months later, in 1985, Cindy gave birth to the baby Hannah Bombay.

Very quickly Hannah showed signed of being different. While playing with other children she would request they play healer and patient, not mummies and daddies. While playing alone, she would be cutting up toads and insects with a knife smuggled from the kitchen under her mother’s brand new fake nose. Even at a young age, Hannah loved science and facts. Like the fact that her mother wasn’t the most interested in her welfare whilst her father doted on her, buying her gifts and cuddling her on his knee in front of a roaring fireplace. She didn’t think twice of the roles her parents played, her mother always just seemed more bothered getting her hair rebleached or her nails manicured. Hannah simply remembered the fact that her mother was very pretty, nothing more.

On closer reflection as the girl grew older, she realised that her mother was simply a lazy bimbo who took joy in spending her daddy’s hard earned money.

At school, the smart, spectacle wearing girl was sorted into Ravenclaw without so much of a pause for thought from the sorting hat. Fortunately for the young girl, she managed to find a couple of friends. These two girls were practically outcasts as well. Joining the small spectacled frizzy haired girl was the daughter of an imprisoned werewolf and muggleborn fellow potions lover.

Hannah was far from popular at school. Her dark fringe fell low down to her eyes where a pair of thick dark glasses absorbed her face. She was small and while she was a girl to get all the highest grades in a large proportion of her classes, Hannah remained unnoticeable. She had no idea how to talk to boys and felt much safer remaining invisible.

After the battle of Hogwarts and the school restarted, Hannah received the biggest shock of her life. The new herbology professor had the same surname as her. At a point when the girl was starting to become more noticeable to her peers, less of an ugly duckling and more of a swan with a hair cut and having bribed her dad into allowing her contacts, she was starting to come out of her shell, boys realising she was in fact attractive. Just quiet and a little strange. Therefore, this change was definitely not helped when the school’s new herbology professor arrived. A Professor Bombay. Hannah denied any knowledge of this young greasy haired man because she had no knowledge of him. However, his interest had also been sparked and when he called her into his office after a class, it turned out they did in fact share a father and neither had known a thing about each other. Hannah tried to ignore this fact as she carried on with school, still continuing to deny any relation to her peers as they poked fun at her.

Miss Bombay managed to finish school with Os in Potions, Herbology, Care of Magical Creatures, Arithmacy and Charms. With these grades, she went straight into training to become a healer. Being a Healer, however, didn’t mesh well with Hannah’s personality. She didn’t communicate well with patients and instead, after a stint of working in the hospital’s morgue, she discovered this was were she’d rather be.

Therefore she took a position with the ministry to train under a long standing Forensic ME for two years before his retirement. Now is her first month after his retirement, having taken on the job.

However, the ministry of magic recently began facing many volatile issues and despite the need for more staff in the department of Law Enforcement, Bombay’s importance has been swept by the wayside and instead of continuing to keep her on full time at the usual salary, the department decided to place their limited funds elsewhere. Therefore Hannah was forced to take on an alternative position at St Mungo’s hospital while the department draft her in, occasionally, in a consultancy role when and where required.

Hannah’s training and previous work with the hospital determined this to be the best place to move to. She is willing to accept this challenge if slightly reluctant about the people she will be dealing with. The perfectly presented woman is slightly aware of the shock it will be returning to such an environment but the extremity of such a change hasn’t necessarily been fully realised in her mind.


Most people would describe Hannah’s profession as ‘dissecting dead people’. Suspicious deaths and murders that the ministry’s law enforcement department uncover are delivered to Dr Bombay’s surgical table and cut open to reveal the truths of their lives. A lot of what she finds out is done through magic and spells but some still boil down to science and involve her cutting into a body to explore tissues, organs and bones structure. This can tell her about spells used, potions consumed and how the person lived. With Hannah’s accurate analysis of a body, she can practically offer the aurors of the magical law enforcement department a life history for the deceased.

In order to progress to her current profession, Hannah primarily trained as a healer. It was very tough, however, for a woman that possessed very few social skills to work with people. Especially sick people that liked to moan and chat about their lives with her. When working in St Mungo’s mortuary during the end of her training, she found a peace. There was no uncomfortable feeling between the woman and dead and she could still help them in death.

Bombay then trained for another two years in order to become a magical examiner and Dr Bombay where she trained at the ministry under an ME looking to step into retirement. When he retired in October 2008, Hannah stepped up to the mark and became the main Forensic Magical Examiner for the department of Magical Law Enforcement.

At 23, Hannah is very young for this position, most not choosing this route until a lot older, but she presented a lot of potential and worked very hard. Her former trainer hadn’t seen such ability in a woman twice her age before. The fact that she is so young puts many of her colleagues at the ministry off, questioning her mental state and strange personality, but she does her job very well.



Hannah takes her work and life very seriously. Her hobby is her work and her work is her hobby. Often described as the witch that dissects dead people, Hannah seems cold and far too interested in the departed to be able communicate well with those souls still roaming the world. However, now she is being forced to deal with the real, living world.

Elaborate on your expertise in this new field: Her limited experience and ability to deal with live patients has left her reluctant to take on this new position and challenge but nonetheless she has little choice. Before training at the ministry to become a magical examiner, Bombay trained for three years at St Mungo’s hospital to become a healer. However, she decided that dealing with live patients presented too much of a challenge for the socially uncomfortable young woman. Nevertheless, she does have an armoury of experience in dealing with a wide variety of cases at her young age and can offer a different perspective on a variety of cases due to her past research and work with the ministry.

Describe your new job and how you go about doing it: As a healer on the first floor, Hannah will be dealing with patients having been attacked, poisoned by or turned into magical creatures. Her job will be to take on patients and heal their injuries to the best of her ability. This time she will be dealing with live patients and ever so possibly gain a connection with them.

Still being a consultant for the ministry of magic, Hannah will be at the beckoned owl of the Law Enforcement officials to provide a consulting regarding murder victims in the hands of the ministry’s department.

She is a healer at St Mungo’s Hospital where she has only been since the start of March. Before she was an employee of the ministry where she determined the causes of death and helped track down murderers and attackers by using potions and charms on the victims’ corpses.

What is your understanding of your character's special abilities or attributes and weaknesses?:

 Every full moon Hannah transforms into a large wolflike creature before transforming back into her petite self. Her wolf form is taller, larger and far more powerful and aggressive. Her body becomes covered in mangled fur and a long snout forms while her teeth grow long and sharper. Her senses become acute and her ability to withstand anything but the strongest of curses is remarkable while in the wolf form.

The following morning Hannah is weak, agitated and tends to look extremely ill. She tend to awaken with scratches and bruises from the preceding night’s escapades. A few days after the change she is far healthier but nearing the full moon once more she becomes more aggressive, her temper shortens and she finds a taste for only the rawest of meat.

Now in her usual form her hair appears to be wilder, more untameable and Hannah is more impatient that before. She had found that she no longer needs to wear glasses and she seems to be less tidy and less able to conceal emotions. Hannah’s sense of smell has astoundingly improved even when in her human form and she has found she is slightly quicker in her movement.

How did your character become a creature?:

On the evening of March 11th Hannah was working in St Mungo’s on the first floor. During the catastrophic disarray and confusion the events of this particular full moon had created, a young patient who was a werewolf transformed unexpectedly. This wasn’t exactly out of the ordinary for the ward but while apprehending this werewolf and sealing him with silver chains in an office until the ministry could arrive, Hannah’s arm was bitten by the creature. This she covered up instantly and went to tend to the wound.

She hasn’t as of yet informed anyone of the bite or her suspicions of her being cursed thanks to the werewolf saliva. She doesn’t plan on informing the ministry, deciding instead to keep it quiet. Hannah knows how to brew wolfsbane potion and plans to find her own area to change in for the first full moon to see if her suspicions are correct. At the moment she is handling it calmly. When she knows for certain she will no doubt panic.

Hannah has always wanted to further her career. She is driven to be the best at what she does and this means progressing through the ranks at St Mungos. While at the ministry she ended up being the only magical examiner and now at St Mungo’s, having been back there for almost a year, has proven that her knowledge of magical medicine and its application is second to none. The opening came up for the shift charge of the floor and despite her recent legal troubles with the werewolf curse, Bombay decided to apply. She wanted to prove that her condition would not affect her work.

Elaborate on your expertise in this new field:
Having managed to finish school with Os in Potions, Herbology, Care of Magical Creatures, Arithmancy and Charms, Hannah trained to be a healer as soon as she left. Being a Healer, however, didn’t mesh well with Hannah’s personality. She didn’t communicate well with patients and instead, after a stint of working in the hospital’s morgue, she discovered this was where she’d rather be. She then moved to the ministry of magic to train under and then work as the Magical Examiner for the Department of Law Enforcement. When this post was cut due to ministry’s funding, Bombay was forced to return to St Mungo’s.

The transition was hard, returning to working with live patients but her magical knowledge was perfect. She can basically recite a textbook about magical medicine and is practically flawless in its implementation. She however had trouble with engaging with patients and being more personable. This has slowly improved over the 10 months she has been back at St Mungo’s. She has started to show more of a human side after dealing with her werewolf condition and demonstrates more of an empathetic approach with her patients. She is slowly starting to see them as people rather that hunks of meat needing to be fixed. Yet her approach to bedside manner still leaves some to be desired.

She is however good at managing the mediwitches beneath her, making tough decisions regarding the treatment of patients and she doesn’t stand for rubbish. She is a very resilient witch which is required for the position.


Describe your new job and how you go about doing it:
Hannah is in charge of the emergency ward on the creature induced injuries floor. This is where the patients are rushed in for emergency treatment of bites, attacks and various other injuries caused by magical creatures. It is a ward that requires quick decisions and fast treatment. Hannah shares this job with two other charges who each work in shifts so one is on duty at all times. It is her job to monitor the ward, its patients and staff. She is also called upon to make the tougher decisions in patient treatment. She is furthermore expected to help oversee the training of the trainee healers, acting as a mentor.

In addition to this, Hannah finds that she is called upon to speak to newly bitten werewolves, offering them the help and treatment as she is more knowledgeable and able to sympathise with these patients. At first she refused to do this but now she has started to, wanting to help assure those newly cursed.

Hannah answers to her own charge, the Healer in Charge of Creature Injuries, the Head Healer and the Board of Governors of the Hospital.

Hannah didn’t choose to change careers. She was sacked from St Mungo’s. The board of warlocks felt that with all of her trouble with the ministry and the media, she was too much of a liability to keep at the hospital. Ira Almasy offered her a deal/job and in her desperation to keep a roof over her head and food in the fridge without relying on any friends (or former friends), Hannah has accepted and signed a blood contract, binding her to Almasy.

Well she’s a healer and has been since she started training after Hogwarts. She is a skilled potion brewer and a trained magical examiner.

Describe your new job and how you go about doing it:
Bombay is at Ira Almasy’s service. While originally taken on to heal any of her ‘clients’, Hannah will soon be doing a lot more. What that will entail, she doesn’t know. But it certainly won’t be legal. While she may be called to various places to carry out her work, she will also have a ‘lab’ of sorts in her new apartment to work from.

Hannah has been a healer since she qualified three years after leaving Hogwarts. She’s spent a few years working at the ministry in the Magical Law Enforcement Department as a Magical Examiner before moving back to work at St Mungos until she was fired. People refused to be healed by a werewolf who was so prominent in the papers. She’s spent the last 6 or so months working privately for Ira Almasy under a blood contract. Therefore, Hannah is extremely experienced.

Describe your new job and how you go about doing it:
Hannah is responsible for maintaining the health of Azkaban detainees. She will work under the main Healer in Charge at the prison. Hannah’s duties will involve healing prisoners after injury or sickness while also regular check-ups. It won’t be an exciting and mentally challenging job. Despite the unpleasant nature of the location and the patients, the healing work she will actually be doing will be somewhat mundane and not at all taxing.

After her trouble with Ira Almasy and the crimes she's committed, Hannah ended up having to work as a healer in Azkaban as part of her sentence. This job continued for a few years with the concern that she wouldn’t find any other work.

In early 2017, the Head of the Death Chamber in the Department of Mysteries approached her about working on Level 9. Due to the fact that Hannah spent the first part of her career in the Law Enforcement department as a Magical Examiner working with the dead and seeking reasons for their suspicious deaths, she was asked to lead on a new project within the Ministry’s Death Chamber. The mission is top secret, but will hopefully facilitate the dead to have a voice.

Character History 2013 - 2017:

For a few years, Hannah’s life didn’t change significantly. She went to work at Azkaban, came home to her little flat and Herbert the cat, and regularly met up with her boyfriend, Sylvain Onuris. These meetups became more and more regular until one day the wizard attempted to completely throw off her routine by suggesting a radical change to the status quo. He suggested that they buy a place to live together.

Hannah took 6 months to think it over and agree.

Her little flat in London was sold, and Sylvain transitioned away from being the groundskeeper at the castle. Together, they purchased a perfect little cottage not far away from Hogsmeade. Sylvain was given his own room to store all of his ‘clutter’, and otherwise they kept a very tidy house. The huge amount of land surrounding the house was soon filled with various creatures that Sylvain wished for.

It was shortly after moving in with Sylvain that Hannah was approached by an unspeakable about a change in career path. This didn’t take 6 months to agree to. She agreed within the hour.

Throughout this time, Hannah has continued to heal and help unregistered werewolves with her close friend Knox Greyfriar. She has been starting to dip her toe into fighting for werewolf rights, but in a very Hannah Bombay sort of way.
