Physical Description:Romulus stands at 6ft and has a softening sort of sturdiness to his build. He keeps his brown hair stylishly short and suitable to his age, and often has a neat beard. His features are soft and civil, with kind eyes.
He dresses as well as he can in expensive, traditional wizards robes with a dash of modern flair. He favors dark tones with small flashes of color, and an assumed dragon motif.
Normally, Romulus speaks sweetly in a nice tenor. Behind closed doors, though, he has a sharp, vicious, spitting shout.
Personality Description:Romulus comes from a troubled childhood and he never really adjusted. He has come to feel entitled to anything he can take and values prestige and wealth over much else. He believes most people would agree with him, and are just not strong enough to do anything about it.
He's ambitious, covetous, and prideful. His love for his family is more about possessiveness than true care, their success contributing to his own status. The only exception, perhaps, is his wife with whom he is vulnerable, admiring, and doting.
With his children, he plays favorites. Those who obey him and achieve are given preference. The rebels receive little benefit or patience. In all cases, however, he'll keep them out of trouble, for the good of the family as a whole.
Most of his interactions socially and in the business world are about advancing himself and the hotel. He's known to those with pwoer as cooperative and genteel, and known to fellow businesswix to be shrewd but willing to deal. Anyone who stands in his way, however, or have nothing to offer, is treated to his hidden cruelties.
Politically, he's on the Purist end of things but in public he moves in whatever direction will serve him best.
History:Childhood:
Romulus was born to a working class magical family in Birmingham. His muggle father Hugo was abusive to him and his siblings, and his witch mother Octavia née Welles did not intervene. He lived for awhile with family in the United States. He attended Hogwarts from 1970 to 1978 in Ravenclaw. His classmates included a former and current Minister of Magic, as well as noted murderers.
His family were terrorized by the Death Eaters in the 1970s, and his older brother Cassius was killed. His father blamed their mother for her magical heritage bringing on the violence.
Early career:
Without the benefit of help from his parents, Romulus took jobs in restaurants and hotels. He worked hard and advanced swiftly, gaining the right kind of allies, stepping over people who didn't see him coming.
He was doing well for himself when he went back to the United States for business. There he rekindled an old connection with Esme Castillo, a pureblood American witch with money and political connections. They married, had children, and moved to Edinburgh.
The Pendragon:
With Esme's money, the Wildes made a major move in 2001 and bought an old hotel. With their grand designs, they refurbished it into a luxury boutique experience and named it the
the Pendragon. The plan was always to use it to gain influence and connections.
Life of Crime:
Romulus has always cheated and justified his sins easily. His business advances have often come at the expense of someone else, somehow ruthless, somehow uncaring. He took any opportunity to exploit the system and advance himself. Esme, helpfully, has little qualms herself. Now, the Pendragon Hotel is the front for a firmly established criminal organization: fraud, illicit gambling, illegal trade, drugs, and blackmail.
Describe your job duties and how you go about them: Romulus owns and operates a popular hotel. He's responsible for every part of it, overseeing the finances, business matters, staffing, and marketing. He delegates only to the most trusted circle.
