Knox smiled widely and opened his arms in a wide gesture of welcome and triumph. If even Hogwarts had Judith Eastman for the year, they'd all be a little smarter for it.

"Wonderful! I'm so pleased," he said rising and placed a hand on his chest. "Whatever we can get from the lovely Professor Eastman. I'll owl the paperwork this week, and you're welcome up to the castle at any time. Let me know before you come and I'll be sure to be there, show you myself what has changed, the classroom, the office. And of course, provide anything you need."

Muggle Studies was the more complex classroom to kit out, what with Hogwarts needing muggle money to furnish many of the relevant technology, but they were figuring it out.

"Telephones. Micro-wave ovens. Rubber ducks." He treaded over the dated, muggly list with a bit of farcical doddering. "Anything like that."

Though she was all smiles, enjoying Knox's happiness, the gears in Judy's head were turning nonetheless.

"Well, you know, there is one thing I'd quite like. It might be hard to accommodate."

She shifted her fingers, knowing this was another big ask. Not so much in terms of money - she had thought of using her muggle-world wealth to buy supplies - but in terms of logistics.

"I'd like to find some area where we might get some electronics to work, possibly in the village, where I can give the kids - at least my sixth- and seventh-years - a few hours of actual computer time."

Then, a thought hit her.

"I suppose we could put a little makeshift computer lab here, but of course I'd need resources from the castle to set that up and clean up after."

The home was near the far end of Hogsmeade, far enough that there wasn't too much magical interference, usually.

A computer lab: there was never a more scientific phrase, was there.

"Here?" Knox wondered, looking around. "Have you got electricity?"

He realized now that she must. While the mobile phones (like Judith used) were themselves unbound by wires like lamps or televisions, they did need to connect up at regular intervals to charge.

"Intriguing. As it is, it's up to you, I suppose, to host that rabble in your sanctuary. Mind them wandering off. Though perhaps the draw of a glowing screen will be enough to keep them ensorcelled for the period."

He anticipated some push-back from the Governors (thought there had been some change lately), and wondered if Computer Class would make for the more Doomed of their students another opportunity for casualties, but he was not conservative in these matters.

"Well, it goes down now and then, but I have a system."

It wasn't technically illegal under wizarding law, being made of muggle objects that were not charmed (solar panels and a large battery, as it were), but it was eccentric and in some circles frowned upon. However, the witch was contentedly set in her ways.

"It would be more reliable out here than on the school grounds, that's for sure."

She seemed to pay little mind to her own inconvenience. The pedagogical goal was what mattered to her.

"There will be owls, I'm sure. Worrywort parents on about some 'electricity wave poisonings' they read about in the Quibbler. Amusing bathroom reading, nothing more. I started sending on St. Mungo's pamphlets and that seemed to do the trick."

On his feet, the happy Headmaster patted his robes to account for his wand and patted his head to account for his hat.

"Thank you for the wine," he said, by way of introducing his farewell. "And your willingness to take up with for the coming year."

"I do love me some hate mail," the witch replied. She enjoyed it in a way, though there was one year in the 80s when she had to have a bodyguard.

"Thank you for dragging me out of retirement," she said, acknowledging the farewell. "I'll send an owl your way later in the week."

She would put it all together and come into the term as ready as she could be. However, that didn't require rushing too much.

No, no, she had time to enjoy more of the wine solo.
