Re: [Sept 24th] We Are Who We Are (Sandy, PM) Reply #15 on April 07, 2018, 09:56:55 AM Who was that? A girl's voice. From the Ministry! She was arresting Balfour Spectre. Sandy was surprised how quick she arrived. He wished he could see it with his own eyes. He heard a camera flashbulb. Genevieve spoke. Almasy! They sent the Almasy girl. Sandy had seen her. She was training to be an auror. He saw her on Level Two last time he went. Another flashbulb."If I c-could see my eyes I could heal myself." Sandy stuttered. It was embarrassing. He was a spell damage healer! "Walked in here and hexed me. In the middle of a private meeting." He was not sure where Raine Almasy was. Everything was dark. "Ministry worker. Outrageous!" Something Storm would approve of, like turning the woman inside out. People like Garciá-Gamp were the literal excrement of society. It almost made her want to agree with Ira about such things."A member of the patrol will be along shortly to take statements. I'm only here to resolve the disturbance," she explained in a bored voice and raised her wand at Sandy. "There's only one way to reverse the hex, sir, and it's to cast it again. Convacies!"Her casting was a less violent one than Spectre's, causing Misselthorpe's eyeballs to smoothly swivel around to their original position. She didn't understand why everyone was being so dramatic. It was like Figaro[1] all over again!Perhaps that was just a side-effect of working at a paper where the drama was always dialled up to the maximum. "We're going to take our leave now." Raine continued, using words almost ad verbatim from a DMLE handbook, just a bit of irritation in her tone. "Thank you for your calm and cooperation. Mr. Spectre, if you would please," she glanced at the division head - he had fallen silent and watched her carefully the entire time. Was he thinking about her aunt? Trying to find similarities? It made her uncomfortable, that. "I'm to take you directly to level two." 1. Okay, Spill - 10th August, Raine hexed Fig for being a nosey journalist. That was better. Now only his pride hurt. And maybe his bum. "Thank you. Auror... Almasy?" Sandy spoke. "Why have they sent you? Spectre is no dark wizard." Not even dark haired. Just bad tempered. He waved his wand. He accioed an envelope. He wrote COMPLAINTS, WITCH WEEKLY on it. He thrust it at Balfour Spectre. "Here. Saved you the effort." There was a great deal of distaste there, as if Genny had personally insulted her! She would of course be talking to Sandy after this; while he didn’t try to control the magazine, he’d be in need of venting about this attack. In all of Gen’s years at Witch Weekly, she’d received countless howlers, and of course they’d had angry people barging into the premises. They’d also had overzealous fans or stalkers trying to break in to speak to her or the reporters and models. Sandy tended to get off unscathed because he was merely the proprietor. Not today, poor fool.“I'm only here to resolve the disturbance," Mini Almasy stated in a uninterested manner and Genny couldn’t help but raise her eyebrows. Fat lot of help she’d been in doing that! She was a baby auror trainee who, to Gen, had been sent as a gorgeous present to only add to the next editorial she was now planning in her head.Spectre was thanked for his cooperation, and Sandy, now able to see, thrust an envelope at him. Genny crossed her arms and smiled warmly at the deliciously handsome but angry beast handler. “Yes, thank you, Mr Spectre. I’ve been asking for a security wizard for years, I might actually get one now.” Dark eyes glanced side wards to her boss and bill payer. His temper had cooled and the impertinence was more ridiculous than annoying. He noted the glance his apprehender had given him while she answered Sandy's trivial little questions. "Why have they sent you? Spectre is no dark wizard." "I can't possibly comment." Raine drawled, unbothered by having to justify herself to journalists of all people. "You may reach out through the usual means, if you'd like."Balfour had a damn good suspicion as to why they'd sent her but he had seen aurors-in-training perform all manners of unrelated tasks at the Ministry. At least they weren't shovelling dragon shit, like the trainees on level four. Speaking of dragon shit... he glanced at García-Gamp before they took their leave but didn't reply to her desire for a security wizard. The employees of Witch Weekly stared as he followed Almasy out of the offices. Take a good long look! he thought angrily to himself. One of these bastards was Lil Snigger - and Balfour hoped to Odin that she knew how bloody close she'd been to being hexed herself.End Skip to next post
