"Yes," Ananke's voice came with a quick chirp of approval, "very nice, Mr. Schlagenweit."

The professor picked up the braid and held it up for the class to look at before she began inspecting it. She closed her eyes and hummed a bit as she rubbed her finger down its length taking note of its texture, little uneven bits of braiding, how matted it was, or how stiff it was--technical details that revealed quite a past.

"Don't fret being a bit obvious at first, facts are just as important as anything," Ananke let her steely blue gaze wander over the rest of the room as she let the bookmark hang from her fingers, "Just from seeing how worn this bookmark is he has read a lot of books," As if she actually needed anything of Sasha's to state such a detail. She then ran her finger down the braid as she pulled it closer to her face, "And he has also read plenty of both magical and muggle books--they keep differently and so, when something is stored with or inside of either kind of book, they have a small but noticeable effect."

Ananke gave a content nod as she gently laid the bookmark down on the table and then quickly cast a line of bluebell flames[1] onto the braid--a harmless fire when something was not being held over it.

The witch then dragged the flaming cord onto her hand and held it some height above the table. She rolled the bookmark in her palm as the bluebell flame harmlessly danced above it--but the flame was quickly shrinking until it was barely a blue glow, "Now, I don't believe this weak flame has anything to do with the content of Mr. Schlagenweit's books, so I believe this simply means that its owner reads while or when he needs rest."

The witch then pinched an end of the bookmark and looked toward the front of the room as she added, "Another interpretation is that Mr. Schlagenweit might need to change his habits--there's everything to be gained from something bold," then she whipped the bookmark towards the front of the room, sending the bluebell flame flying through the air before it took a sudden detour and got sucked into one of the floating pumpkins. The professor then squinted at the pumpkin feeling a bit like a young Hufflepuff for saying such a thing, so when she looked back at the Ravenclaw she cautiously added, "Even if it's ridiculous," she meticulous laid the bookmark back into the book, making it seem as though she had never even removed the thing in the first place.

The pumpkin the flame was absorbed into then melted from a bright green to a deep indigo as Ananke's voice fell into a lazy and cheerful tune, "Anyway the flame should have just landed on my desk," the witch gestured back towards the indigo glows of the jack-o-lantern, "It was a terribly vague reading but  something as odd as that can definitely be taken into account--so I would say that Mr. Schlagenweit may do something bold and ridiculous come Halloween." Ananke turned and gave a soft smile towards the boy--usually, for any other student, such a statement would be obvious, but for someone as studious and reserved as Sasha Schlagenweit, it seemed rather surprising for the professor.

The professor then looked around to the rest of the classroom, "Reflective surfaces tend to produce much more noticeable effects when one tries to Divine them, and larger objects are much easier to read as well," she then pulled out a pair of old tortoise shelled and goblin metal-rimmed lorgnettes[2], one of many things she inherited from her deceased mentor, and put them on the table for the Ravenclaw. Ananke probably needed to get them cleaned, "Now, class, you may begin."
