Durmstrang alumni, born in Leipzig. Shortly before his death, he worked for Gringotts and had been turned to a werewolf two full moons hence.
Father of Johann Storm, husband to Camille Storm, cousin to Ignan Storm. At the height of his career he was Senior Account Manager at Chrysopoeia, managing the Durmstrang accounts. He also sat on board of Durmstrang Governors. He was a regularly appearing figure during the TetraWizard Tournament in 2009-2010. He was fiercely anti-werewolf, and a traditionalist.
History
Born to Medgar and Erika, Wolfgang was given his father and grandfather's names as middle names. He grew up in Leipzig, educated by family as is the family tradition.
His entry to Durmstrang was easy and Wolfgang made many friends, getting into the Oberteils on recommendation.
He made money as a student by running books on matches and illegal duels amongst the student body, which was not always honourable but mostly profitable.
Money and markets always interested Wolfgang, so working for Chrysopoeia was a very predictable outcome.
Wolfgang and Camille met while managing the goblins. They both had former partners without settling or down or children. He fell in love quickly and deeply with Camille. She was an intelligent, patient woman with a beautiful voice and a kind heart. She was very easy to love, and brought out a softer side in Wolfgang.
The couple had a home in Hanover, close to extended family for Wolfgang by the time their only son, Johann was born. After trying for another, only to have her stillborn, Camille decided wisely Johann was probably enough for them both. Wolfgang regretted but accepted. A girl would have been nice. He was not too worried as long as Johann made him proud.
It wasn't long after Johann was born that they moved to Frankfurt to be closer to the bank, and the offer of a bank-owned property to look after them was appealing. This became the house that Johann grew up in. Both parents were keen to develop their son's non magical talents, and spent hours teaching him mathematics, geography, languages, and history, which put him in good stead for when he finally did attend Durmstrang.
It was during Johann's time at the school that Wolfgang began to become involved with the other governors, though he initially resisted any suggestion at joining them until Johann had left in 1994, mainly as however much he loved his son, he felt knowing what did happen at the school would worry him more than necessary. He joined just as the Tri-wizard tournament began, staying on as Karkaroff deserted them and Eisenberg took over.
With the Tetrawizard Tournament upon them, Wolfgang became even more involved in the day to day financial matters of the school, ensuring the budget for the Tournament was suitable, and that the team was well stocked. He particularly enjoyed his access to Auberon Eisenberg, the headmaster, whom he held great respect for.
In early 2010 things began to unravel for Wolfgang. First he discovered his son, Johann proposed to werewolf, Hannah Bombay. Wolfgang did not give his blessing and the family fell apart over things. Wolfgang and Hannah both crossed each other in the months that pass, and eventually Wolfgang was dismissed from his job. Camille, trying to defend her husband was also dismissed, and the pair lost everything as their lives, as their home was tied closely to their employers.
In June 2010, Wolfgang, Camille and their house elf turned up unannounced to Godric's Hollow to stay temporarily with Ignan Storm. They moved out a few weeks later to rent a place in Knockturn Alley, and Wolfgang managed to acquire a job at Gringotts.
Wolfgang quickly became involved in the Werewolf fighting ring that he observed before during his Tetrawizard visits. Seeking revenge on Hannah, he arranged for her to be the wolf for the July full moon. On discovering this, Lawrence Musgrave attacked Wolfgang, leading to Hannah biting Wolfgang, turning him.
By September, Wolfgang stood trial for the werewolf fights, but before he could give evidence, was poisoned on the morning on Monday September 27th 2010, and died in the stand, masterminded by Ira Almasy.
