By all appearances, a humorless, snarky lady fond of cigarillos and stiletto heels. Most people recognize her from a distance by the severe, black dress she favors and the cloud of smoke that trails behind her; similarly, she can be tracked by the latter.
She's fearless, but not without self-preservation—though she'll speak candidly and frankly to figures of authority. As far as she's concerned, everything important begins and ends with the Department of Mysteries. (She keeps a crossbow in the office specifically for interruptions.)
Hogwarts
At Hogwarts, Verona was a very driven student—rather unfriendly, but firm and open about her motivations, one of which being insatiable curiosity. She had little time for social niceties and even less for the dull and annoying. Quite often she was reminded to "play nice".
With little interest in popularity or competitive sports, she was often absent at duels and Quidditch games, or found reading during them. Instead, she was a member of the Astronomy Club, where she quite enjoyed the spats that erupted over planetary alignments and constellation placements. By 2003 she graduated with OWLs in Astronomy, Herbology and History, and NEWTs in Arithmancy, Charms, Defense, Potions and Transfiguration.
Relationships
Slightly misanthropic, Verona likes few people—namely, her father, her brothers, her cousin Gracie and her uncle Yorick. She finds most people overly emotional, boring and/or absurd, and is cynical about second impressions. She absolutely loathes her stepmother Lenore Prewett and half-sister Thayet St. Martin.
She is currently in a relationship, although with whom she refuses to disclose.
