Tenacious Twine

Tenacious Twine is an enchanted ball of silver twine that is known for its durable qualities. It is a rare item on account of the materials used to construct it, which includes Occamy skin, Unicorn bone and enchanted Silver. The twine is nearly unbreakable.

The nature of its tenacity is due to the fact that the twine is capable of doubling any measure of force that is exerted upon it. It has its limits, however. There are creatures capable of breaking it through sheer feats of strength alone - such as Dragons, Graphorns and Serpents. The Nundu is capable is using its breath to corrode the material.

Uses

The twine is utilised to weave nets for the capture of various dangerous beasts. The Beasts Division of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures has a generous stock of twine that must be logged in and out whenever used by handlers.

It is also used by the Werewolf Capture Unit (WCU) on more perilous missions. The twine's silver content means that it is likely to irritate werewolf skin in human form, and burn mildly in werewolf form.

Some werewolf hunters have been known to cleverly utilise this twine to capture their prey alive, on a full moon.

Notable Strengths & Weaknesses

Although the twine is effectively resistant to force, it is still capable of being torn or disintegrated by corrosive substances. Tenacious Twine is resistant to flames but dragon fire or an extremely strong fire curse (such as Fiendfyre) may weaken the integrity of its material.
