Tait Aldridge (NPC), c. 1973 - 1994-12-21. A former Gryffindor, Aldridge graduated from Hogwarts in 1991 and immediately entered into Auror training. He was the fiance of fellow pure-blood Tamis Raynor, and friends with both Jonas Trevelyan and Archer Radley. His mother was Charisma Aldridge.
While a rookie Auror in 1994, Aldridge was assigned to the Runespoor Smuggling investigation. While investigating the case, he began to notice some trends that just didn't make sense - and that hinted at deeper corruption within the Ministry.
Aldridge managed to break the first level of the smuggling ring in late 1994, but in the process of doing so, he tipped off the Department of Mysteries (which was one of the groups illegally importing the Runespoor venom) that he was on their trail. Before he could put the pieces together, Richard Burke murdered him on 1994-12-21 while he was walking his fiance Tamis Raynor home from a shift at St. Mungo's. The leads for the Runespoor investigation became cold very quickly and Aldridge's murder was never solved, though it served as the catalyst for Raynor entering law enforcement.
With the Runespoor investigation again becoming active in 2008-2009, Aldridge's death has been brought back into the forefront again. On 2009-01-02, Richard Burke anonymously delivered his badge to the Head Auror (though Burke did not realize that said Head Auror is ironically Aldridge's former fiance who was also present at his murder). As a result, the investigation into his death has been re-opened.
