Bright, awkward and woefully complacent, Sid Dervish is a geeky man-child, Hufflepuff alumni and Maintenance work at the Ministry of Magic. Adorkably awkward and geeky, Sidney has always been that guy that girls only seem to want to cry on the shoulder of when their douchebag boyfriend breaks their hearts. He doesn't mind too much, really... he has long ago accepted his lot in life as a loser, mostly thanks to two overbearing older brothers. He could be anything he wanted to, but has settled into a steady but boring life of video games, cooking and working in maintenance at the MoM. The only real accomplishment in his life thus far is that he has managed to snag a beautiful alchemist, Una Freher from the DoM, a feat he considers quite impressive. However, Recent events have left him wondering if his life is going in the right direction and this perpetual man-child may finally grow up.

After his first fight with Una, Sid had a strange attack that left him temporarily out of control of his magic. After a short stint in St. Mungoes, the two reconciled and decided to take a romantic vacation for a little while so that he could fully recover. Sid hasn't told her, but he intends on quitting his job when they return so he can finally pursue his dream career.

Romantic History
Sid's romantic is history is fairly brief. Shy and awkward as a teen, his first foray into romance was a short-lived crush on an older housemate, Maiko Biladeau-Yukawa. She only saw him as a cute younger friend and when his family had to move away during the war, he lost any chance to make her see otherwise. Once returning, and without his brothers keeping him down, Sid was able to blossom a bit more. He soon met and fell for Trina Quinn, a former housemate who had already graduated and started her career as a singer. Things were looking up for a while and Sid looked forward to marrying Trina. However, when he quit his job as an unspeakable when Analiza Snark was made head of the department in 2006, Trina didn't find his new job in Magical Maintenance adequate enough. It wasn't about glitz and glamour, it was about ambition. She didn't like that he was wasting his talent and felt he was being wishy-washy, neither of which she needed to deal with on top of her slowly budding career. The two broke up right before Sid was about to propose and he still has the ring, wearing it on a chain around his neck to remind himself of his failure.
Recently, however, a fresh breath has been blown into his otherwise dull love life in the form of Una Freher. The two met when he went to clean the potion room of the Department of Mysteries where she was working overtime. Somehow his awkward stuttering and stumbling endeared the brilliant alchemist and the two slowly begin to form a relationship. Sid pulled out all stops to impress her with romance and seemed to succeed as the two have grown quite close. He is waiting for the day for her to finally trust him enough to show him her scars.
