The Untold Story of Morgana and Romulus Blackthorne
Romulus Blackthorne's obsession with muggles was not welcomed among the circles of his elitest pureblooded family. His parents loved him very much, however, and encouraged his venture to America, where it was heard that American witches and wizards were much more friendly to muggles. He had recently graduated from Hogwarts as a Ravenclaw Alumni and decided he wanted to live among muggles for a time as research that he felt would better benefit the wizarding community. He went deep into undercover and it did not take him long to fall in love with an English teacher, Morgana Strange. He bought an engagement ring and proposed; she, of course, said yes.
But Romulus could not go through with the wedding right away. She frequently asked him about his family and he was terrified that she would leave him if he revealed his secret. He left on a trip to England to discuss it with his parents. His mother, Pearl, told him to be greatly honest with his beloved for it might cause him trouble later on. Romulus returned to the United States, found his courage, and told his wife his deepest secret: he was a wizard. As it turned out, however, Morgana had her own secret: she was only a half-blood and had chosen to live among muggles rather than wizarding kin.
The two were happily wed and lived among the muggle community for many years. Romulus acquired a job at the American Magical Government in the Muggle Liason Office. Because he was living among the muggles, his work as a Muggle Liason was more effective than most of his co-workers. In the same week that Morgana realized she was pregnant with their first child, she received a letter from her own family: Voldemort had returned and it was best if they stayed in America where they were safe.
Dark times fell upon the wizarding world, making it impossible for either of them to visit their families in England. Romulus was at work when his first and only son, Romaine, and his twin sister, Fionnuala, were born. Morgana stayed at home with Romaine & Fionnuala for a few years until she received a letter from Salem Academy with an offer to teach Intermediate Muggle Studies. Romulus, unhappy with his work as a ministry official, quit his job to look after his children while his wife went to work at Salem Academy as a teacher. She was only there for a year before deciding she would rather be at home with her children. The next year, she had their second daughter, Angerona, and Romulus decided he wanted to open up a Quadpot shop to sell supplies, broomsticks, and a small section for flying carpets. They were not rich by any means, but they were happy.
End of the Dark Lord's Reign
A fourth child was soon born to the Blackthorne's on Halloween of 1996: a girl which they named Serenity Lee. On her first birthday, Romulus and Morgana received word that Voldemort had been totally defeated by Harry Potter at the Battle for Hogwarts. Immediately, the family relocated to Godric's Hollow in England to be reunited with their families: the Blackthorne's, the Ruggles (Romulus's mother's side of the family), and the Strange's (Morgana's father; her mother was a muggle). Upon moving to Godric's Hollow, the pair switched roles: Romulus stayed at home with the children while Morgana went to work as an English teacher at a muggle boarding school.
Romaine & Fionnuala were accepted to Hogwarts not long after the family had settled in to their new home. A new addition, however, arrived little more than a year later: Morrigan Blackthorne.
It was customary for every summer since the family's move to England for the little family to spend an entire summer break with one family (the Strange's) or another (the Ruggles), alternating each year.
