Romaine enjoys working with magical creatures, though he is not overly fond of beings such as vampires or werewolves (his boggart is a Hag) because of their general attitude towards wizards (which, given his experience, he completely understands). He is not unfriendly towards them, simply wary. At work, he is overwhelmingly friendly with his colleagues, always good-humored, and always eager to help out. His bosses and associates like to dump their work on him and take advantage of his phrase, "If I can help, let me know!", leaving Romaine stressed out and lonely. His ambition is one day be promoted to the Beast Division.
He was on the Hufflepuff Quidditch team and played the position of Chaser and he was also a Hufflepuff Prefect during his 5th through 7th years at Hogwarts.
Romaine is three minutes older than his twin sister, Fionnuala.
