Ricky is a loud, cheerful cockney. Never quite enough ambition or courage for Gryffindor, the hat put him in Hufflepuff. Ricky made friends easily, and was generally good at any role or task he landed in, but was not always a stickler for detail or for pressing on. He was often complacent.
When the post of Head of Department for Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures came up, Ricky threw his hat into the ring but was unsuccessful. He wanted bigger but the board didn't think he had the drive or the ambition to make it. They instead appointed Alec Carter. Nose out of joint and with the feedback still ringing in his ears, Ricky began to search for a new post while holding onto the post of Head of the Werewolf Wing.
Eventually he made the jump across the Atlantic in December 2011, and was replaced by Iona Ballentyne.
