A gruesome sport, involving coercing a werewolf, or kidnapping them, and the abduction of Muggles. At full moon in a secured location, the werewolf is unleashed and the Muggle fights for their life while the audience places bets on anything from how long they will last to how they will die.
The first fight is held in a magically converted house. Bets are taken on the fight from a magically created viewing platform above. The fight is organised by Cináed Tawse and Ira Almasy. The unwitting competitor against the wolf is Juni Zamperia's mother.
Anxious to check his friends are not the wolf he has seen the night before, Johann Storm checks Hannah Bombay made it to the cells at the Ministry the previous night.
The third fight is held at Lillesden School for Girls, South of Hawkhurst. Although the attendance is diminished due to the fact it falls on New Year's Eve, and many of those keeping up appearances are at the St Mungo's Benefit. Organised by Ira Almasy.
The Daily Prophet reports the reappearance of the Dunnigan Brothers, Robert Dunnigan and Richard Dunnigan of the coast of Pembrokeshire. They have been missing for three weeks and have no memory of what happened in that time.
Owing to a long-running feud between Wolfgang Storm and Hannah Bombay, Wolfgang arranges for the capture of Hannah for use in the full moon fight of July 26 2010. He keeps her in a cage at the venue before her transformation and visits her to goad her.
The tenth fight begins at the disused swimming baths in Birmingham, organised by Wolfgang Storm. When Lawrence Musgrave finds out that he wolf is his niece, Hannah Bombay, he curses Wolfgang, saving the Muggle from death but allowing Hannah in wolf form to bite and attack Wolfgang before she can be stopped. Lawrence stages an auror raid to get people to leave rapidly. The Ministry record a spike in magical activity, but do not investigate it immediately. Johann and Wolfgang leave almost immediately. After removing the Muggles, searching the building and sending an owl to Edwin Glass, Lawrence rescues Hannah from the cage in her human form and they escape.
Johann Storm apparates to St Mungo's Hospital with bitten Wolfgang Storm. He is met by Miranda Elliot and Omari Warrington who try to ascertain what has happened. Miranda instructs a mediwitch to find Camille Storm and then owls Ignan Storm. By the time Ignan arrives, Johann has run away. Ignan encourages Omari to call in the incident.
Knox Greyfriar apparates home after a night at the Ministry for his transformation. He discovers Hannah Bombay and Lawrence Musgrave. Lawrence has broken in. As they treat Hannah's wounds, some of the truth of the night comes out and Knox throws Lawrence out. Lawrence's wand and coat are left behind in Knox's house. Hannah is very distressed and weak, but adamant she needs to inform the Ministry.
Lawrence Musgrave arrives on the doorstep of Arrow Thatcher who shelters him at Aunt Dorothea's. Lawrence mentions what has happened to Arrow, but tells him to deny having seen Lawrence if caught. Lawrence has acquired a ladies hoodie in disguise and a wand from the back pocket of a Hogwarts teenager in Diagon Alley to allow him to apparate again.
Johann Storm has spent the day at Adelia Delacroix's flat in Kensington, under the guise he is working. She is not aware of what has happened. He writes a statement about what happened, seals it and asks Addie to keep it, though does not tell her what is inside.
Primrose Woolfolk pays Wolfgang Storm a visit in St Mungo's Hospital to see if he can remember anything about the attack. Wolfgang is deliberately unhelpful.
The Muggle is obliviated and released from St Mungo's. Muggle-worthy Excuse Committee and obliviators work together to reintegrate him and account for a missing month.
The Haunting Hour covers the events of the 27th. Balfour Spectre, in disguise, interviews Johann Storm (hiding in Slandermouth) who makes bold accusations, insinuating the Ministry may have killed Wolfgang Storm to keep him quiet, that MLE knew about the fights but failed to act as they do not care about werewolves and muggles, and that Hannah Bombay is innocent.
Two brothers are found bound in chains, hanging from the rafters of their residence in lower Knockturn Alley. They are wearing wolf head masks, one with 'Ed' and the other with 'Pratt' written on them. (Lawrence Musgrave has beaten and tortured them as they are Hannah Bombay's kidnappers, and since the events of September 27th, she has been unable to further prove her innocence without more evidence.)
Sleep could not be elusive forever. The last of the bottle of potion captured it soon enough, and his blue eyes closed at last. Waking from potion was never much fun. If felt like swimming up to the surface from a great depth, limbs heavy, vision blurred. It took a while to remember where he was, and there was always the panic that he might not come around for more than a day.Johann Storm
After compulsory annual leave for the trial, and his week AWOL, Johann Storm unexpectedly turns up for work. He presents a resignation letter to Gabrielle Murray, Department Head, giving 7 weeks' notice. He cites health as one of his reasons.
Although I am required to work seven weeks' notice I would appreciate it if I could shorten this notice and reduce my hours back to part time, as due to ill health and recent events I am unable to work my full notice period.Johann Storm
At about 11:30am, Johann Storm takes two coffees to Level 2, to repair a bridge with Head Auror, Edward Pratt who he verbally abused a week earlier in the courtroom.
Camille surprises a lonely Hannah on Christmas Day, worried regarding recent reported White Christmas plots. A few days before she and Johann deposited a significant amount into Hannah's vault from Wolfgang's offshore accounts in compensation.
